Canon F-1 original

Canon F-1 original

Dear Board,

This is a repeat purchase. I originally bought a used Canon F-1 from a neighbor when I was still just a kid and used it throughout my college years.

In an effort to recapture my youth I bought this one in a Goodwill auction. It came with a 50mm/f1.4 SSC, the MF motor winder, a flash coupler, several filters, and a Sunpak 333 flash.

The winder was corroded and inoperable upon receipt but some judicious cleaning brought it back to life. WOW, is it loud. It's makes my Canon 1DMK3 sound like a spy camera. 😀

I added a Vivitar Series 1 70-210 f2.8-4 and a Vivitar 120-600 f5.6 - 8 along with a Tokina 28-70 f2.8-4.3 macro zoom to the collection.

I am in the process of running the first roll of film through the camera. At this point everything seems to work properly, the shutter speeds seem to be accurate and the light meter reads exactly the same as my Gossen Luna-Lux SBC with a 675 hearing aid battery in the camera in place of the original PX-625 mercury cell.

God I hope everything works!

My other hobby is playing the guitar, and my recent purchases have been guitar-related. I had been wanting a Fender Jaguar for some time (I already have three strats, three teles, two Les Pauls, a D28, an ES-175, and an SG). However, while trying out a few Jags, I also played a couple Jazzmasters. I couldn't decide which I liked better, so I got both.

I spend about two hours a day practicing, it's a great hobby. But it can be expensive.

Oh, this will require photos, for sure!

Please 🙂

I bought a 28mm-30mm step-up ring for my super solinette. Had to get it as although the manual says the lens mount is 30mm, my example has a thread smaller than that.

Unfortunately, the thread on the lens isn't really deep enough to take the step ring. I've compared the 'front to back' depth of the thread on the step ring and the 30mm filter and the filter has a shallower thread depth, so I've decided to try with a 28mm sklylight filter and metal hood.

Pentax 85mm/1.9 M42. It will be mounted on my ES II that was recently reconditioned by Eric Hendrickson.

Should be a sweet combo.

Oh, and an eyecup for my Koni-Omega Rapid-M.
