I bought yet another Weston Ranger 9 meter...it didn't work but was in like new condition along with a case that was in the same shape...I wasn't planning on getting it fixed but did anyway...I needed to return one because it died under warranty..so now I have three in great working condition...I might send one to my cousin who's wanting to learn more about manual metering...

I had that book years ago, got it when I first tried 5x4, I found it quite useful except I was using an SLR with telephoto as a bodge spot meter.

Thirty 6.5cmx9cm dry glass plates, freshly made by J. Lane.
I have about fifty Plaubel Makina holders (I use these with sheet film) that will take glass plates, simply by removing the film septum, which holds the sheet tightly inside the holder.
This will be a fun project.

I buy camera things relatively rarely these days, but an impulse moved me recently...
Since I own a fairly complete lens set of Leica R lenses, I saw a mint condition Leica R6.2 available at a very reasonable price and bought it. It's a lovely complement to my Leicaflex SL with a better meter and a few niceties that a twenty-five year younger camera can sport, and it's a lot smaller and lighter. Still very nicely finished and built.
After I enjoyed shooting a few exposures with it yesterday, I read the owners manual and saw that they made a nice motor drive, grip, and remote controller with integrated intervalometer for it too. All three were available in excellent shape at very low prices, so I ordered them too.
Shooting with the very last Leica R that has a mechanically timed shutter brings me right back to the many years I shot with a Nikon FM and FM2n. The niceties of having both averaging and spot meter patterns, the ability to bias the meter calibration in a +/-3EV range, illumination for the viewfinder readouts in dim light, and of course the Leica R lenses, are a nice plus compared to my old Nikons.

A 1933-1934 Ihagee VP Exakta model A first "almost" 35mm SLR. It's a 127 format, so it's a bit larger than 35mm (5 years later her smaller sister, the 35mm Kine Exakta was born); but then... the 127 and the 35mm are not so different in size
Mostly working, but with a few pinholes in the curtain.

Agfa Ambi Silette
Just purchased a Type II Agfa Ambi Silette with all four lenses (35, 50, 90 and 130 and the 130 finder). All in beautiful condition. Lenses show almost no use. The camera works fine with accurate shutter provided I squirt it with lighter fluid before I want to use it. :bang:. Not sure if I want to tear it apart since it works so fine otherwise. Will decide after I get the pictures processed. WES

A Mamiya 23 Standard press camera with 6x7 back and 90mm f/3.5 lens. In pretty rough shape and the rangefinder doesn't seem to work, but everything else seems to work. Maybe I will do some landscapes with it.
Also bought a nicely-working FED-5B with Industar-61 53mm f/2.8 lens. It's in good shape, but the viewfinder is cracked. Maybe I'll buy a screw-mount CV wide angle and use it with that or just keep it to weigh down the papers in my junk drawer.

@Wes: Another Ambi Silette with a dodgy shutter? I've had 2 mk1's with the same problem but to a worse degree, and a lot i read about are the same.
They sued to say Ambi's were the poor man's Leica.
It seems to be more accurate than ever if you compare them to modern Leica digital RF's their and dodgy sensors that need replacing.

and for all it's imoerfections I rreally enjoy it
Solid metal body feels perfect in the hand
it's Gorgrous & minimal
my only gripe is no VF..,learning to 'see' with just a LCD screen / good size
having fun with Touch
crop factor never bothers Me
the files are Beautiful
a tad thin but easy to adjust / little tweaking
3200 / 6400 works
now I have to decide which 50 (75 equivalent)
will nake me the happiest
Think I will sell / trade
my VM 50 1.5 nokton ... want either the 50 C Sonnar, or 50 2.5 Summarit

Cool !!! Which kind of adapter you used with this Petzval? I would love to use this glass in it's original timber, but for now it seems more practical to use this kind of adaptor (I have a Nikon D750)

It's about a year ago since I had to sell my Leica M5 because of a defective rangefinder that required a costly repair. Since then I kind of missed using and owning a Leica M, although I didn't use it that much - my CLE was always my favourite for actual shooting, but it lacks the charme of a "real" M.
Still, I don't need it that much that I would pay the price for a M2 (or newer) in good shape... So I came across a M1 in user condition and I got it for a low price on ebay. I know it's not the same as a Leica M with rangefinder, but I could get along quite well with zone focusing with my Minox 35 or Rollei 35. And, I like quirky cameras!
Oh, and a few weeks ago: Olympus OM-1 with 2 lenses - but that one needs repair.
