I took the plunge yesterday and purchased an M11 (Silver) from Popflash. Coming back to Leica is exciting. I used to shoot w/ MP and M6 until 15 years ago, when I went insane and moved over to a Nikon DSLR. I sold my M bodies, but hung on to my lenses. Still have my 35 'lux Asph, 135 screwmount and a few Hexanon M mount lenses. It's excruciating trying to figure out which of the APO lenses I'll be saving for. I plan on shooting the classic Leica style lens, but do want at least one of APO's to see the real detail from that sensor. Time to hit the streets!

I have an old Yashica fixed lens with a 50mm 1.4. Forgot the model name/number. The lens renders beautiful shots w/ Tri-X.

Have been thinking about one of these for awhile to compliment my 645N and full set of lenses... and then this showed up as a smoking deal in mint condition with 2300 actuations.

Sonnar Brian may have the answer if it will not take a charge. Not holding a charge must be the electrons being confused in that one battery. Maybe a rest/siesta will help.

I gave it back to the store. We will try to get a replacement. The M240 battery that I have is shockingly good. Lasts for many days compared to my other digital cameras.

A 1951 J-3 with beautiful glass. Lens was grungy, attached to an equally dirty Zorki1. Lens cleaned up nicely, glass and coating are really clean. I tested the thing using the measuring tape method, wide open with focus scale set to one meter mark. Sharpest point on image is about a centimeter short of the one meter mark on the measuring tape. In other words, pretty good. I am not gonna mess with the shims given that it will be used mirrorless digital cameras.

Just snatched up for $55 an very nice Nippon Kogaku black and chrome universal viewfinder with leather case: sets to the following: 3.5, 5.0 7.3, 8.5, 9.0, 10.5, 13.5 . Using on a Nikor S2. Currently have 3.5, 5.0, 10.5 lenses. It even has a serial number...333165 Nice weight to it.

I received the Viltrox EF-L autofocus lens adapter today. My earlier inquiries on Leicaforum and BHphoto did not yield clear responses but here you go: the adapter works perfectly with the SL2-S body & EF L lenses. Cheers, OtL

A 1956 Fed2 (B) from Igor. First time I have bought a camera to use with a nice lens previously purchased. On the M10-P the black with green lettering KMZ version is very good so I bought the Fed to use it for film rather than getting the lens recalibrated.

I went to a camera fair on the weekend and stumbled upon a Yashica auto Yashinon 5cmm f2 lens in M42 mount. I had been vaguely aware of this lens before but had not seen or held one. The moment I did I was smitten.

This little beauty looks identical to (and is the same dimensions as) the Auto Takumar 55mm f2 out of the Pentax stable but, although the Takumar is a very nicely made lens, this one leaves it in the shade for build quality. I have not weighed it yet but it in the hand it feels almost twice as heavy as the Takumar - clearly all brass and glass and is smooth as silk. No aluminium in its build. It is not a particularly well known lens but it is very highly regarded by those who do know of it.

I occasionally watch this quirky (OK nutty!) reviewer who raves about it (Mad - but this review is worth watching I suppose, not the least because I think he is correct at least in this respect.)
