It will perform nicely as long as you don’t shoot directly into the sun. The coating isn‘t comparable tl the newer lomography version.A Russar 5.6/20 with original viewfinder. I am very curious how it will perform.

I usually put them under uv lamp once a year, making sure I wrap them in tin foil otherwise the uv damages the rubber grip or the plastic. The pancolar/takumar are full metal so I don't worry. I can't imagine doing any harm to your eyes accidentally - you really need to place it in your eye and keep it there for some time.@P.giannikis, I've been thinking along those lines too but I don't know for how long to do anti-fungus "maintenance". I'd been looking at UV "torches", but I've also been worried about accidentally blinding myself with it. I also don't know what type of UV any light/lamp should have - UV-A, UV-B, UV-C. Is it safe to put cameras in those "UV nail lamps? Hmmm, what's the biggest lens that could fit into your lamp? I have a Tamron 80-210mm 103A lens, and I think I ought to include it in the activities. Thanks for any help you can provide.
I didn't know that. Thanks 👍I de-yellowed my Asahi Pentax Takumar 1,8/55 with white LED light only. UV is not necessary for de-yellowing Thorium glass.
This is a great lens. I sold my 85/2 Nikkor in favor of this, in spite of the /f2 being much smaller/lighter.85/1.8 Nikkor AF-D
I can't believe that a lens this size is 70mm 😮Not trusting the economy to stay stable much longer, I got the last of the Pentax DA lenses I wanted to have for my basic kit, a SMC PENTAX DA 70mm F/2.4 Limited. With it, my EDC bag will have normally either the 35/2 or the 20-40 mounted with the 15/4 & the 70/2.4 on the ends. Suits my tastes well.
