What have you just BOUGHT?

Not Diafine, but many retailers have Bellini DUO Step. They claim it gives results identical to Diafine.

I have used this and Diafine and they are very similar. Duo Step is also a bit easier to use being a liquid concentrate rather than powder.
The Bellini is also impossible to find here, I checked all of the European photo stores listed on their websites and none of them ships to Norway.
It seems my only option for Diafine is Adorama, they'll ship here. so I'll order some eventually.

These are very rare 😲
i think some of the early (1971?) black ones were made in Japan, later chrome ones were made in Taiwan...in Canon's big factory in Taichung, central Taiwan, early '70s...

The G-III QL are relatively common to find in chrome. But in black they are rare. Unfortunately some repaint them - hopefully Yossi's is original 👍

I bought this black Canonet from a reputable JP seller. He claimed that it is original black paint camera. Just out of curiosity, I checked with Ai:

It's hard to photograph the slight 'patina' at one corner, but it does look like "brassing".

So, I would like to believe that I got a black painted Canonet QL17. 😀

Great stuff, enjoy 😀

Sorely needed here in Norway the coming months
Methinks you are going to spend a small fortune —fedex, customs, brokerage— for yet another magic bullet.
Acufine don’t know but I tried Diafine long ago: very compensating => dull highlights. Not what you want for winter in Norway I guess?

hello from Scotland.

just joined - is there a 'Welcome' thread where i can do an intro..?

just bought a Zorki 4K - so expect lotsa questions

such as -
reading the Instuctions.pdf
I understand about shutter cocking before speed changes
somewhat shaky hands (84yo) so prob limited to 1/125
but why do they warn about moving the speed dial between 1/30 and 1 sec....?

maybe come clear when i have the camera to hand

Acufine is supposedly not as compensating as Diafine so I'll give it a shot! If it's a bust I'll just keep on with my trusty old XTOL 🙂
