Whats your biggest rangefinder related regret

Selling my M6 for the E-P2. :bang: What the hell was I thinking??!!

Now I have a Bessa R2M, which, whilst nice, is no M6 :(

My biggest regrets are the ZM lenses I sold last year before a move to China to take up a position as a full professor in a prestigious research university in Shanghai. I had bought most of them at prices that would make today's buyers really jealous. Sold them for much less than they were worth, arrived in Shanghai, and promptly discovered my employers hadn't the slightest bit of good faith. Within half a year I was back at a university in Taipei.

Obviously, were I to have kept those lenses, I would have averted major headaches :D

Photo-wise, I regret that I didn't take more photos while actually in Shanghai. The situation there was just so unpleasant, I just immersed myself totally in my own writing.

I am about to feel your pain, as I have mine for sale on *bay right now, my car died and I need the extra cash to replace it, it`s one of the best cameras i`ve used, and even worse, my xpan might have to go as well!!!!:bang: .......on the bright side, the next camera I buy will be a rangefinder!

If I had never bought any cameras up until now, I'd probably have enough spare cash to splurge on my dream of a Nikon SP 2005. =D

Trying to change the shutter speed on my Zorki 4k without winding first.

My second biggest regret is thinking I could fix it myself. I now have about 200 4k-parts lying in a plastic bag somewhere in my closet.

Buying leicas instead of taking pictures. Just another brick in this huge wall of first world consumism. Let's keep the wheels running!

Leaving my Leica m6 with a unique Schacht-Ulm Travenar 90mm lens (M-mount) on a bus bench after a angry argument with fiance. Fortunately, I was in Monterrey, and (at the time) Camera West was two blocks away. Bought a nice M6 replacement, black dot. Happier, kinda...Now have to spend 1000+ for an Elmarit M...

I missed a Canon 50mm 0.95 lens for $10, but you can't really fret over something you never had. I regret not getting out more often and immersing myself into something I enjoy doing.....especially after a long day of work at a stressful job.

No RF regret, my GAS-powered journey is fun and guilt free :)

What I regret is not building a darkroom when I just bought the house.

I've actually been thinking about selling mine as it hasn't been used in over six months. They are a great camera but 6x4.5 is a difficult format IMO ... the scans from that size neg don't quite move me the way 6x7 scans do!

I should never have bought the 67 Pentax ... suddenly the Bronica seems a little weeny! :p

Selling my Summaron 35/2.8 with the googles. The only cure is to obtain a Summicron 35/2 with googles, if I can find a loose $900 or so!

Not buying about a dozen other rangefinder lenses and cameras when they were sensibly priced!

Keith and David, I made a dream come through and arranged everything this year, to get both a Noctilux and a Noct-Nikkor in my hands.
I didn't go for any of the crazy prized collectors items including 1.000 USD paper box or super duper coding, but nice user items (the Nocti is mint actually ;-) ).

I figured, cheaper, they never will become.
During my price research, I found threads of people, actually complaining in 2007 about a used Noct-Nikkor commanding crazy prices as high as 1.200 USD :bang::bang::bang:

Similar complaints could be found about not so old Noctilux buyer requests.

I can only say, as long, as it is in reach - snap it up, both these lenses are marvels and fully worth, to sell all the other stuff for (house, wife, liver, …).

Hey George...Good to hear from you...I remember that camera...you brought it to the L.A. gathering we had too many years ago...:D
I remember you liked it...

I don't use it as much as I'd like but I love that camera and can understand how you feel. Bodies and lenses are getting cheaper and cheaper over here though...

My biggest regret was giving my Fuji GA645Zi away, always felt the urge to get it back some day..
Which is exactly what I did just now. Traded in a DSLR and lens, got money and a black GA645Zi in return and couldn't be happier..

Haven't regretted anything I've sold. I do wish I had bought certain Leica lenses 3-4 years ago when I was first getting into RF since the prices have gone through the roof recently. It wasn't that long ago that Noctiluxes were around $3k. Now they are pretty much at $5k. Not that I want one. But it would have been nice to get a 75/1.4 or 90/2 for cheaper than what they are going for now.
