A few days ago I was on the Adorama web page and saw the X-Pro1 offered in a kit with the 35mm f1.4 in a kit for somewhere around $2000 or so. Now I do not see it anymore. This looked like a good deal and I was ready to buy. I do not see it anymore. Any other good deals out there?

Too bad

Too bad

This is too bad. That price was really attractive. I hope I see it again before Christmas!

I do see some cheaper prices from other online retailers, but can they be trusted? It would be interesting to hear from some RFF members who bought from someone else other than B&H and Adorama at a greater savings without any problems with the camera or warranty.

Best Buy! Cool! Any Taxes?

Best Buy! Cool! Any Taxes?

Cool that Best Buy has it at $2K. I wonder if they charge state tax? I know Costco does if they have a retail store in the state shipped to. I have heard Best Buy.com is seperate from Best Buy stores.

Taxes yes

Taxes yes

It seems there is sales tax. It is still a little cheaper than B&H or Adorama, but not as good as the flat $2K deal with free shipping from Adorama. For Christmas, if Fuji is smart, they should offer a package price again!

We can still get a deal like that here in New Zealand
That's what the body only sells for in this particular store in Christchurch, NZ

Special! We can now supply the X-Pro 1 with a bonus 35mm lens at the slim price of only $2,545.

Low demand = lower prices.

I think the demand is high enough to support the price the OP complained about.

Prices do drop before a new model release as well to reduce inventory.

I think demand drop a bit due the little brother xe1. There were enough out that that did not care either way about the ovf. The other aspects/features from the xp1 was enough for them to jump along w/ the new price.

The rumored xp2 certainly affected demand as well, but xe1 I believe affect demand more.

^--- the used market for X-Pros is much tighter now that FW 2.0 is out. I'd take that as an indication that demand is up, not down.

I wonder how much of used market is due to new buyers vs existing owners who decided the price is right for second body?

Btw did u get your replacement xp1 yet?

Gary

Not yet. I'm waiting to handle an X-E1 before I decide.

On the other hand I just got a very good deal on a 35 Summilux ASPH. But that belongs on the "lenses that you sold and then bought again" thread.

:D
