X1 Af?

I've been thinking a bit about how I'd like to have an X1, but my day-to-day shooters are Hexar AFs, with their IR-AF; so I'm a bit concerned about how the X1's contrast-detection AF will perform in lower-light situations. Obviously, the reviews will tell, but I wouldn't mind your views on how the AF will be. (The external VF I'd be using on the X1 doesn't bother me, since I've had to trust the Hexar to focus on the right thing; I just need the X1 to do the same thing!)

I'm looking to get an X1 also. Looks like a cool little camera with a lot in it. Can't wait for the reviews to start coming out.

Looks cool, indeed. But for the crazy price, it better deliver absolutely everything it promises, flawlessly.

I'm watching for the rumoured very similar Nikon, too.

No name to be found, yet: it's still rumour. Bookmark nikonrumors.com and hope...

I'm a Nikon DSLR user but I've more or less stopped hold my breath for their so long rumoured APS-c compact. Also, I fear that Nikon might cripple it in a way like Oly did with their E-p1, not to undercut their low-end Dslr sales. That's something that Ricoh will not have to worry about and they might have something seriously good if the rumour snapped up by 3-5 forum members of Dpreview turns out to be true.
