Seven camera list would add the Rollei FX for me, the LX is 6 here. The LX is really perhaps the most under-rated camera ever, everything that the F3 delivered in a much smaller package. Less options for world-class glass, but enough. I made a lot of money through those two LX bodies.

The 2 most important features for me in a camera are a great viewfinder and a smooth shutter release. My favorites:
1. Olympus OM-2n
2. Olympus OM-4T
3. Nikon F6
4. Contax T2
5. Mamiya 6
Left off list: OM-1n (prefer 2n and 4T), Olympus 35SP (great lens and fun to use, but shutter release too long in throw), Nikon FM3a and FE2 (viewfinder coverage, brightness and size inferior to OM and F6, and shutter sounds overly metallic and clacky), Nikon D750 (wonderful image quality and digital convenience, but viewfinder not as good, a bit overly complicated with controls).

Who'd have thought, on a forum based around rangefinders, that the only brand actively producing rangefinders would be among the top picks of most!

2. Bessa II, I have the Color-Skopar version, nothing beats being able to carry acreage of negative in your pocket, and it's a coupled RF
3. OM1, my first real camera, oh that viewfinder...
4. Rollei 35S, the XA is more convenient and pocketable but the Rollei's Sonnar is something special, so I put up with the quirkiness
5. Nikon F plain prism. What a beautiful camera. Great lenses.
