I think you're off the mark here. Most use M cameras because they want a mechnical rangefinder and want to use their small m lenses. The only way the M9 goes down is if the M10 is released and "corrects" the M9.
Not all digital M owners are idiots with too much money to burn. I would imagine most m digital buyers knew what they were buying when they bought it. Additionally, it doesn't matter where you work... stop stereotyping the "wall st" type. I actually work on wall street along with a lot of other people who do not make big bucks. I went to art school and it's just a job to me... not a lifestyle.
A non-M camera will have no effect on m prices. A new M camera, if done right, will.

Secondly I think you skipped over much of my response while looking for inflammatory phrases; there was no generalization but rather a basing on my personal experience of those that people talk to me about my Leicas. I'm not a photographer by profession but always have a Leica in hand during business trips and meetings. I said "my
cynical perception of at least a
decent percentage of the current M9 ownership" bought for brand and the love of expensive gear, didn't say anything about "all digital M owners", after all
most digital M owners I know of and hear about are on RFF and L-Camera Forum and they know their camera and their craft about as well as anyone possibly could.

I have had conversations with about Leica." It is simply a way of explaining the rich businessmen I deal with on a daily basis that often spend their money freely without knowing what it's really being spent on. Obviously not every person that works on the acutual Wall Street comes down from their glass tower and tramples the poor while stepping into their Rolls.
Ultimately none of this really deserves your anger or my trying to justify anything to you, every one of my predictions is just my opinion, just as everything you predict is just yours, neither of us have a such a clear view of the future so as to state any prediction as fact.
