A Petri Color 35, I just pulled it apart and cleaned the lens and viewfinder.
A beauty, with a great lens
I wanted to emphasize the geometric form of the Ricoh Auto Half-E, so I "floated" it above the background in order to minimize shadows, and I photographed it straight on with 50 mm macro lens. And except for the reflections from the coated lens, the image was already nearly monochromatic, so I converted to b&w.
Camera's selenium meter cell is dead, but perhaps I'll see if I can cut a silicon photocell to fit. Meanwhile, I can still use it at 1/30th sec with manual aperture control.
I'm looking forward to putting a film through it. I have seen some photos online with quite characterful bokeh taken with this camera. And the build quality is impressive, it's a heavy thing! If you / anyone have any sample shots taken with one I'm interested to see them.
Nice find Jeff, and I love how you chose to photograph it. At first I thought it was a 1960's promotional photo of the camera!
Obviously, it makes all your photos "Crystal" clear, even when out of focus or blurred from camera shake. A must-have for every photographer. Don't hesitate! There is a Photax "Crystal" filter I could get, but I've no idea what it does. Googling hasn't been much help.
It was the last day of the Fujifilm Summer Sale at the local camera shop. The dollar/yen exchange rate was strongly in my favor.
It would have been a sin not to buy it! I bought it!
