cbass, can you make the 14th?

Yes, the 14th is good and more preferable than the 21st.

Rob, good luck tonight at the game. Go Sox!

PS - for those RFF memberss in the RI/CT/MA area, the last WaterFire lighting in Providence, RI is set for 10/15. I think Mrs. Cbass and I will be going with some friends.

By the way, not to derail all of this, but I'm playing the National Anthem at the Sox game tonight (Tuesday) with a group. I'll be the tuba player honking away. Check it out if you can, we're on NESN starting at 7pm.

I'm bringing my Bessa-R with 25mm Skopar for the wide shots, and my F100 with 300mm f4 for the action shots. They give us ring-side seats for the game, so I should be in a similar position to the shooting gallery.

Rob

Going onto the field in front of 35,000 people? I'm not scared, I always tremble like this...

Congrats Rob... if my son is not making me stand on my head and playing him in checkers I will tune into NESN at 7 to see you. I have to admit though that I will then turn on the YES Network to root for the Yankees.

Well, at the risk of sounding like an ungrateful backstabber :D , I grew up around NY and feel a little closer to the Yanks and Mets. Also with the likelyhood of having beer poured over me on the 14th, I really do like the Sox!!!! :D :D :D

We were disappointed NESN didn't show us last night - they were in commercials until gametime. Oh well, it's an unforgettable experience anyway. It's incredibly intimidating walking out onto the field, but then to hear 35,000 people cheer at the end was awe inspiring.

So back on topic, it looks like we're good to go for both dates. John Harvard's in Harvard Square on Friday the 14th and 21st. How will we recognize each other? We can each describe ourselves here, or we can all wear a rangefinder around our necks...

Rob

Just look for a crowd of beautiful women. That'll be me, in the center  .

Kidding, of course. I'll be wearing a Nantucket red ball cap, with no women surrounding me :( .

Looking forward to a nice chat on 10/14. What's the best way to get to JH's from downtown? I'll be working near Old City Hall. Also, what time do we meet?

I will be wearing my new RFF baseball cap if it arrives in time... ;)

Otherwise I will have a "like Domke" F-803 khaki colored bag, and may be wearing an England rugby shirt - white with a large red rose on the left chest.

I'm currently carrying an M7 everywhere so I will have that, if anyone wants to try any of my other stuff I have an M6TTL, 28 Hexanon, 50 Elmar & Summilux & 90 Tele-Elmarit. Could fit a subset of that stuff into my little bag including the two bodies.

Peter you can fit all that and more. I remember meeting with Ray G and his over stuffed Domke 803. Two bodies, scads of lenes including a giant Nikkor 105/2.5, it was fun and funny.

M6 + 4 lenses + beer...I sense disaster looming. :D

I'm mid-30s, 6 feet, chubby, short hair. I have a perpetual look of bewilderment on my face.

Yes but I have business folders, lunch, wallet (very thin ;) ), Treo phone, film, meter, keys, pens. In short, I'm using the bag as a briefcase as well as a camera bag.

Earliest I can get there is probably 7:00pm (my out-of-town trip is cancelled).

Other people may want to get there earlier.

For those who have never been there:

Take the Red Line to Harvard Square. At the top of the main exit escalator you will see "Out of Town News" on your right. Go left 180 degrees. Up ahead on your right is au bon pain, which is on the corner of Mass Ave and Dunster Street. Go right to 33 Dunster (near the end of the block). The entrance is just before the entrance to "The Garage." Go down the stairs to the bar.

Rob already knows me. For the rest of you, I'm the guy trying to sell a nice Zeiss 35/2.8 Biogon in the classic mount. And I'll have a tan Domke 803 (like everyone else).

Robert

I feel left out, I'll have to get a tan Domke 803 before the 14th.

I'm looking forward to it; I'll shoot for 7pm. If I'm counting right, now with Tom Diaz joining us we'll have either 6 or 7 people.

Rob

This is on my mind Huck, I will let you know, may be a game time decision. And yes, lets hope the Yanks are still alive on the 14th, actually both the Sox and Yanks should be thankful if they are still alive on the 14th with the pitching staffs they have.

What time would you leave for Boston? I most likely will be working a half day if I go.

Hey I am a Yankee fan!
Looks like we might get a respectable Yankee fan minority.
Maybe I will wear a Yankee cap....
Or I will stick with Bob....

Ciao Joerg
