Camera and Coffee

Wow, that is just beautiful. The '40's telephone is a great companion to it; is it in service too?

Love that Prominent! The telephone is cool too. Welcome to the place where it's okay (expected, actually) that you will be retro ...

Was that Prominent ever used?! WOW!!

Have you checked out the new line of Voigtlander's made by Cosina?

if it was used it it wasn't used much. no wear anywhere and the lens looks factory fresh. i found it in the bottom of a drawer in its original leather case. it was my grandpa's and i'm sure it hasn't been touched since the 60's or before.

thanks for all the compliments on the camera! it has been fun (and a bit frustrating) learning to use it. not so much the infamous ergonomics, but the small, dark viewfinder, close up framing, and teaching myself sunny 16 as i go. challenging but fun.

yep, i've seen the new voigtlander stuff- my fascination with RF's quickly became obsession once i found this forum. i've read every new thread and searched the forums up and down in the past weeks. the first few days it felt like i was reading a foreign language because of my overall inexperience in photography- i bought the nikon a few years back but only shot maybe 5 rolls of film. now i know what way is up- lots to learn and very exciting! from a noobie's view the amount of knowledge here is amazing, an apprenticeship really.

unfortunately the phone doesn't work- but it is on the short list to be fixed. i also thought it went well with the prominent.

Finally got the Bumblebee all done. It was made from parts off cameras that had been bent or engraved. The flash had to be rebuilt. And I figured I'd have it match. :)

Gee, Greyhoundman, I sure hope that's not one of the Canonets I just sent you! ;)

not a stealth camera eh, g'man?

i still marvel at your abilities and patience.

i took the black oly out for a spin a short while back and i just love it.
it sits on my night table by the bed and i see it every morning and just as i drift off at night.
i swear it helps me sleep better and start the day with a smile on my face.

G-man, you never cease to amaze!!! Another very imaginative and great looking job -- you have a real talent for this.

I guess I was the only one doing that !

Only that they sit on the shelf in front of my bed, if I placed them on the night table they could end flying while I desperately throw my hand in search of the hideous alarm clock in the mornings :D

The Russians

From left: Zorki 2S with Industar-22, Zorki 3S with Jupiter-8, Zorki 6 with Jupiter-12, Zorki 5 with Industar-50 and FED 3(a) with Industar-26m.

Here is my Fed 2 I just bought from Alex-Photo. Now today to go out and run some film through it since its finally above 20 degrees outside.

No coffee, but I was photographing some of my wife's artwork and decided to finish off the roll by doing to shots of my RF's. Here's one I particularly liked. I call it "The Cousins"

Thanks, guys!!

Joe: The strap is one of Gordy's. If anyone has one of Barnack Leica's or its FSU clones, I'd heartily encourage one of these straps. Much nicer than a neckstrap.

I'd like to use that shot as my avatar, but I can't seem to shrink it down small enough. Any suggestions?

geez, what a dope!
i thought they were BOTH wrist straps, just took another look and realized one is a neck strap, doh!

what size are you making the thumbnail?

I'm making it 125xsomething pixels, but I can't get the file size down small enough. 19.5k is pretty damn small!!!
19.5k is plenty big enough for a 125x125. Apply a little more .jpg compression. If you email the original image to me, I'll make you an avatar that works. (My avatar is a mere 3k.)
Forgetabout dpi. Your monitor don't know what an inch is, only pixels.
