Everything goes better with Tim. Of course he's utterly unknown in Southern California. Oh, how I long for a dutchie and a large double-double.
BTW, saw this on the cbc.ca business web-site today:
"Tim Hortons carried the day at Wendy's International Inc. — again in the fourth quarter — as consumers on both sides of the border ate more doughnuts and fewer hamburgers....Tim's contribution was recognized by the Dublin, Ohio hamburger chain Friday, a far cry from the early days when U.S. analysts questioned whether Canadian-style doughnuts would ever sell in the United States....'Tim Hortons delivered another outstanding year,' chairman and CEO Jack Schuessler said Friday....He announced that Tim's sales had increased by 19 per cent over the year to $1.2 billion US, giving Wendy's a profit of $29.96 million US (or 25 cents a share)."

Not totally unknown...I am here in SB, and I remember Tim Horton's...if only from my days watching hockey night in Canada from just over the border in northern Vermont...

Not that I remember him...I am only 27. There were a lot of donut commercials though. And I suppose Don Cherry might have had some donut crumbs on his outfit, but it might have just been the plaid confusing me.

Stuart: It was definitely the plaid! I can't imagine Don having crumbs anywhere while he's on camera. And I think Coach would have his dutchie with a different beverage...
Julian: I don't know how long it's been since you had a dutchie, and I haven't had one in a long time. But some of the baked goods are NOT as good as they used to be. Not that I am much on donuts and such any more. But the maple pecan danish .... oooooh, now THAT is an evil delicacy that I can't resist!

Nice Timmy mug! At one time every Tim Horton's shop did its own baked goods. Now most of the franchises get them shipped in, not as fresh. The local one at the end of my street still does their own. If you're ever in the neighbourhood, drop by and we'll gang up on the calories!Trius said:But some of the baked goods are NOT as good as they used to be. Gene: You're on! You're right... I think the shift to having frozen stuff shipped in may have coincided with the purchase by Wendys.
I've also noticed that in some the locations around here the portrait of Tim is gone. I'm going to have a serious chat with the manager...

hey, they're only Zorkis
Nice looking 4K, Daniel. I saw the pic of your Zorki.4 in your gallery, too. I'm afraid I'm responsible for bringing that one across the Big Water... purchased from the Bay and sold to CappySlack. When I got it, I threw it in a bag and took a road trip having no idea how to even load the thing. But I got a few shots like these from the first couple of rolls and was instantly hooked on FSUs. Hope you enjoy it too.

Yup! Todays issue.
Today it was like Dire Straits "47 channels, but nothing's on". Many parts and pages, but nothing to stir my morning coffee with.

Too many cameras
Excuse this rather shoddy shot, a friend's Contax III (shot with its great-grandchild Contax G2). The cake has been eaten, the coffee cup drained....

ain't it pretty? Coffee mug made by a good friend who studied ceramics, and there is actually some coffee in there, not that you think I didnt leave some coffee for the voigtländer.

and a silver J-8 looks suprisingly good on it. Makes it look more classy, somehow.
