Camera and Coffee

Richard,
Thanks. I have to admit the camera "taking" the pic wasn't an RF though. Nikon FE2, with 35mm f2.0 lens. I do like the GT for it's ease of use and good sharp pics though.
Funny story about the MM strap. I got it with a Nikon EM that was a POS, sold the EM for parts, but keep the COOL strap. Perfect companion for the GT.

Hey - thanks for keeping the 'camera and coffee' tradition alive - and a great looking shot ;)

(I think the camera-coffee combination is unique to this forum. I need to get a good one with a couple of Olympus RF cameras as well....).

Here's my contribution. I had to do it since I'm a serious coffee addict :)

Well, I guess it is my turn to contribute...so here we go.

These are a pair of Agfa Karat IV's, both with Solagon 50mm f2 lenses. I've torn them down and rebuilt them - both were non-working eBay finds with frozen shutters and non-working rangefinders. Now both have shutters that work, timing seems ok, and rangefinder/viewfinder cleaned up and clear / working again. I'm going out to take some photos with them today. No lens hoods - GASP! - because I haven't any for these little lenses.

I'm enclosing a link to a review I did recently on another Karat IV I have - this one with a lesser lens. Now I have two of the top dogs - hmmm. Whatever will I do with these?

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

Nice ones, Bill!

From Bill's review
I hope that you found this evaluation useful and entertaining!

Loved your review -- it was both useful AND entertaining. Great work!

Bill - loved the shot - LOVED the coffee mug!
Beatiful cameras. Must admit that folding cameras is one thing I've never gotten 'into' but I am constantly intrigued.

Thanks for keeping the thread alive!

okay, not very artistic but...

okay, not very artistic but...

So, I was at the Perth Fair (South of Ottawa, Canada), your typical North American Agricultural fair, shooting with my Zorki, and my mother plops this coffee down next to it. Naturally all I could think of was www.rangefinderforum.com, so I grabbed my wife's digital camera and shot this...

BTW, I was taking a picture of the vintage tractor pull and this guy (shaved head, in his 30s) says "Wow, don't see many like that anymore..." and I realized he was talking to me and had a Leicaflex around his neck. We joked about how it wasn't real photography unless your camera was all mechanical and you were using the Sunny 16 rule :D

Good shot, vladhed! Thanks for keeping the tradition alive!

Just looking at that beauty, I can barely wait for my Zorki 4K to arrive. I had to send the first one back (jammed shutter).

Is it cheating if I use a light meter? :D

Nice shot and story Vladhed, as in fact this is a capture of a true real 'coffee and camera' scene, not a studio setup ;)

Gene, I guess it doesn't mind as long as it runs without batteries :D lol !

My M3 got a play-buddy a few days ago - an Olympus 35LE.
It's a version of the more common 35LC (that I have...eh..three of) and I've been looking for a really nice one for almost a year.

This one is as pristine as they come. Looks nice and once I get an MR50 battery replacement I'll run a roll through it as well.

Todd, not sure haven't gotten the battery for it yet :)
It's a 1.7 seven-element lens like the SP so I'm looking forward to trying it out.
