If you want a real treat in china town go to Hing Lung on Broadway. It looks like a dump - and I guess it is..BUT they have a world-famous dish there that they do really well...it's their Chook (rice porridge). It's really, really good and you have to order some fried bread with it as well. (I personally like the pork version but your miles may vary).
For the best pastry in Chinatown go to Golden Gate Bakery...their egg custard cakes are the best you will ever find. That is also the reason why you will see 30 people standing in line outside of the place on the weekends 🙂
Me I bought a bike rack and am gonna install that this weekend as I'm about to head up north to Point Reyes - so take care of SF for me! 🙂
