Camera and Coffee

Pablo I don't know how the lenses compare and I have never seen a Summitar. However for the SOOGZ to work on the Summitar the outside diameter of the lens front would have to be identical to the 5cm Elmar.

I can tell you that this combo works perfectly on a Russian Industar-22, which is an exact copy of the Elmar 5cm.

My question may be odd because I'm going to get a Bessa R sooner or later, and I have a pair of good Leitz Lenses to use.
Your description of the lense makes me think that I need a good 50mm one, and It's not in my plans getting M stuff.
This are the original Leica lenses, pre-war, uncoated, but they are the ones that started the legend.
I should start a new thread with this.

Pablo

Mine is post-war and coated but I understand it is pretty much identical otherwise to the pre-war lenses. Cosmetically its in excellent shape and focuses smoothly and is a pleasure to use. 🙂

Very nice camera, Ralph....
I hope I'll be able to post a photo of mine in the near future, once our resident expert checks it out and sends it my way... 🙂

Sweet expectation... 😀

That's it! Selling my Canon DSLR gear and L lense and getting me an a-la-carte Leica!.....I wish I could 🙂 Very nice, Rover/Dad. What 35mm lenses are considered to be the best in that book?

Denis, did you get that M6ttl from photonet a week or so ago?

No, Frank - not a TTL, but a black M6 Wetzlar Classic.. Don't need no steenkin' flash with my Leicas 😉
Serviced by Sherry two months ago...
Brian says it looks and feels to be 9.5 out of 10...
And, yes, it was a photo.net catch....
Planning to stick Ralph's black Ultron on it once it arrives....

I must publicly thank Brian for helping me out with this deal, since the seller was a bit reluctant to ship to Croatia. Well, not actually, but there were other issues.... He offered 10 days' inspection period, so I asked Brian to check it out for me.

There, you have me blurting out everything... And I wanted to keep it secret and just post a photo once it arrives 🙁

Denis

Thanks everyone, and yes Joe, it was dark roast.

The cam and I have done a lot of cuddling, but I am yet to get it in action. I will find a way to do so this weekend. The new/old Summicron arrived yesterday. I am very very happy about that.

Natalia, I bought two books recently, the LTM lens book you see and the Zeiss Compendium. I am reading the Zeiss book first, but the lens book actually doesn't cover lenses from Japanese manufacturers so I don't know if there will be a definitive best discussed in it.

Nice shots everybody !

William the K5 may look sexy with the 35/2.5 Skopar and a vented hood... hmmm 🙂

Peter and Rover, nice M6 you have there. Rover, that cam+cof+book outfit is what I'd call a great morning outfit 😀

But... Denis, you too ???

This is starting to look like a Leica M give-away ! 😀

Congrats all !!!
