Camera and Coffee

nice iskra. I see that the background gets standardized around The Book

:p

Oscar, did you recover that Iskra? If so, where did you get that nice dark brown leather?

Yep Frank, I have a big leather store and factory (mainly jackets and bags) at two streets from my house, just went there and asked if they had some scrap patches, the guy there said 'sure!' and came out with a piece that will probably give for 3 or 4 more cameras.

The Iskra recover is a piece of cake, btw.

And the last one before hanging up the modem... with public thanks to Joe for the softie !

Brian, I think they both look made for each other, I can see why you called yours 'Canonator' ;)

Andrew, they are the all metal Leica M grips from www.photoequip.net (they are not the ones displayed on their website though). Designed for M Leicas but they fit the Canon P and 7 (and some more probably) almost perfectly, drop a line to photoequip AT yahoo DOT net if you'd like to get more info about them.

oh oscar, very nice indeed!

i'm starting to feel a bit of 1.2 envy, like i'm not a member of the club...

merciful, brian, rover and now you!
who will be next (or who have i forgotten?)

i have to admit that while i have no need for speed, the look of the 1.2 pics is enticing.

i also like the 2 grips, very handsome.
i find that my 'p' actually feels smaller when i carry it around now. that grip was the best investment, thanks for the legwork in finding them.

Canon IIf with Canon 50mm F1.5

Canon IIf with Canon 50mm F1.5

Went to a Photorama show and came home with a Canon IIf with Canon 50mm F1.5 lens and case. Calibrated the RF and put a roll through it already. Also picked up a Canon 28mm F2.8 FD for $10 and some series VI adapters for the Summarit.

The lens look great, two visible cleaning marks. The camera is mint-. The outfit ran less than the lens alone on EBay. Camera shows are well worthwhile!

BTW: This camera feels solid. Even more so than the Canon Vt. I think they originated "Heavy Metal".

oh, very nice.

and shiney too.
soon, you'll be giving the canon museum a run for it's money.

did you see any 100/2 or 50/1.9 lenses there?

Joe,
No Canon 100F2's or other Canon 50's. The show was kind of empty. They scheduled it to open an 10am the morning after daylight savings time set in!

Oscar, I am planning a Bill M style shoot-out between the 50's, especially the Sonnar's. I also picked up a Jupiter-3 from EBay and want to check out this "focus thing".

SO: Nikkor 5cm F1.4, Canon 50mm F1.5, Jupiter-3, and Zeiss-Opton 50mm F1.5 (Contax mount). Also have the Zeiss 5cm F2 collapsible, Jupiter-8m and Nikkor 5cm F2 for the 6-element "slow ones", all of these are Contax/Nikon mount.

More camera porn...my latest acquisition which should have pushed Leica share value up a bit.

:bang: :D

Sorry, no coffee at these hours.

Kris,
It's really nice. Chrome. I love chrome lenses.

And remember that chrome lenses are better than black lenses in sunlight because the metal does not heat up and cause the optical alignment to go wacky! Black lenses are okay in temperature controlled studio conditions where the optical alignment is held constant but chrome would cause undo reflections of studio lighting...

Ralph, it's a special edition Summicron: 50 Jahre (50 Years Anniversary) Summicron. Same optical formula as 4th generation but with classic Rigid Summicron appearance.

How could you resist this kind of thing ?! :bang:

You know I am weak, I can't resist anything. ;)

I just went over to the gallery. No photos taken with it, only these two of it so far?

No photos taken with in online yet. I've got a couple of finished rolls but waiting for more before dropping them to the lab.

Brian, the Cron will see sunlight most of the time and the heat level here Down Under can be rather high so the chrome finish is indeed an advantage. It matches the chrome finish on the M3 too! :D
