Hey fellas,
I'm writing regarding the malfunctioning of my Canonnet. I thought it would be best to consult the experts regarding my future actions.
Upon returning from my overseas trip to Malaysia with the spoilt camera, I found it to be in working condition the following morning. After which I was happy but apprehensive to load another roll of film, afraid that the problem might crop up again.
Tonight, I just loaded an Ilford Delta 400, and lo and behold, the problem sprung back to life.
I am at my wits end, however after calming myself down, and rewinding the film back to the initial state so I could still use it on another film camera, I decided to take a closer look at what happened when I depressed the shutter.
When I depressed the shutter, I could hear a faint click as if it was trying to hook onto something to activate the shutter release. I am suspecting that something has come loose in the shutter mechanism causing the shutter not to fire even when I depress it fully.
As described in the previous thread, it is not the problem with the meter automatically blocking the shutter from releasing and I have tried it both in SP and Manual mode. The front blades close in with the back blades fully closed but the shutter does not fire.
Has anyone faced this problem before and is it possible to do a self-repair? Or do I have to haul it off to an expert to get it repaired? I have yet to finish a roll on this one after receiving it from the G'man a few weeks back and this problem crops up already. 🙁
Thank you in advance to all the kind souls.
