well, not sure if there is any that 'currently' I love. There had been a number but over time that faded away. Some I have some affection for, more strongly usually for one or the other very recent. I don't mind at all if the liking isn't shared, on the contrary, I appreciate that tastes and opinions are limitlessly diverse, just like photography itself.

Hi Kuuan. Thanks for for stopping back. My comment about focus point was that I see it as the knife. Some people said there were too many (the people).

That follow up photo feels like it lets off the tension that the first has.

oh, ok. the later version makes the couple in the middle stand out a bit more, I should try to put even more vignetting to see what that does. Do I understand correctly now?

yes, the 'presenter', or better 'performer' really must have done a wonderful job, building up tension, and releasing it with the appearance of the spiral cucumber 🙂

I am tempted to show a mixture of images that either I like, and, pardon me for that, I think some of you might like.
To see what you guys think generally my weaknesses or also possible strengths might be

The honesty I am asking for first of all is required by me:
I don't know much about the greats in the history of photography, have not seen photography books nor read about theory. Lately, having been more active around here, I have been looking more closely at 'street photography', have seen many good examples here and at provided links, also have been reading talk about it much more than ever before.

Now I would like to show you what, at least by what I came to understand is regarded being street photography, is my first trial at the genre.
It would be a series of pics taken during one late evening ( day before yesterday ) at a busy road in Saigon, the tourist mile which recently has became fashionable for young locals.

I dared more aggressive editing which seems typical for a certain type of street photography, obviously that had been done fast and with little expertise, therefore, besides comments on contents, composition asf. I'd hope for suggestions on editing.

Here the scene, obviously other photographers like the motive too:

Further down I may, would like to, add some of my thoughts about street photography in general and of some of my pics in particular. The later, as I had found out after the original pic in this thread, may be needed for better 'viewing' or 'understanding', but first I'd prefer to show them without words

what do you guys think, is that ok with you?

my first attempt at 'street photography' as I recently have become to understand it in this forum.
( I also had come to understand that my usual photos, for not being candids, better be categorized as 'travel' and/ or 'social documentary' )

10 selected, most because they break 'rules' that recently have been put forward in this forum, notably that 'cut legs' and 'partly obscured subjects' aren't ok.
( even though these had been presented with a rather rhetorical question if anyone disagreed and I had been the only who did, that has been ignored )

all taken ( very recently, after I had started this thread ) with NEX5n during two late evenings at Pham Ngu Lao street, the 'tourist mile' in Saigon
