Nope, since it would make the camera slightly larger and heavier. I use a "lens coat", little camera protection thing when I stuff the camera in my regular (non-camera) shoulder bag.

Thanks! I was looking around for a neoprene case and hadn't come across that one. Far more inexpensive than others with a Leica badge on them.

BTW, does the body bag from lens coat fit a M8+lens? It's only designed for an SLR body but I'm wondering because of the smaller size of the Leica whether it will take a lens too.

I'm torn between using a case and not using one. I have a Luigi half case that makes the camera a lot more managable in my hands but it has the fold down flap which drives me mad on the occasions where I'm constantly checking results (chimping).

I bought a used M grip which makes the camera nicer to hold naked but my index finger tends to wind up over the rangefinder window occasionally!

Maybe i should think about get one without the flap:bang:

No case, and my M8 shows some battle wounds. I thought about getting a case, but at this point it doesn't really matter. I would consider one of the cases with a grip built in though, that seems like a nice feature.

Luigi's 1/2 case is great... It protects the most vulnerable parts and It's easy enough to get to the screen if I want to take a look. Even the gripless version makes the camera easier to hold.

I've had the Zhou 1/2 case for 2 weeks now. It is really a nice option IMO. Tried the Luigi basic case and did not find it much better to grip. I have bigger hands and prefer a bit more mass to hold onto. The Zhou case is under $75 or so new. I have them on my RD1 and ZI also.

see, I work out so I can hold the camera and the case.
I'ts not like it turns into a 5D (weightwise, not ISO perf)

I have the thumbs up and Luigi case as well. It's less for protection and more for holding comfort.

thanks for replies, if u could only have one, thumb up or a case with grip?
(Still waiting for my M9 Grey, have some time to think about it)

Neoprene cover for the cam while carrying in the backpack. Slips on and off very fast.
But I hate half-cases ´cause loosing the feeling while taking pictures.
