I will decide in the next days if I will come to Prague.
Of course I want to join but I still cannot assure it definitely.

(Back home and sending a bump to the thread.)
I have a list with half a dozen or so contact details and will send it out (plus a load more with any luck) before the weekend, so there's less likelihood of last-minute updates and so on.
The recent thread by SolaresLarrave here, contains a few more tips and links to very photogenic locations. P3tr included a suggested walking route and there is a link by Robert_Blu to a project he and his wife are doing, based on Prague and environs.
There are alternative accommodation possibilities in both hostels and on campsites which are still within walking distance of the Old City, as well as the undoubtedly excellent hotel recommendations made earlier. Travel is easy too, with tubes & trams and a very practical ticketing system.

So who is attending? Is there a list of attendees (work in progress) somewhere?
I will very probably be there, but I have very little time to do my own research for hotels etc. I'll start reading in this thread for the last month.

my plan is to go by car, a day or two earlier. as stated before, can pick some people on my way.
anybody can recommend cheap hotel/hostel not too far from the center (less than 30min walking distance) and with a car parking?
what about hotel/hostel room sharing?
looking forward, see you soon i guess

See post from MartinP (about one week ago in this thread): Please send a contactable e-mail address and perhaps mobile-phone number, if you will be using one in Prague, to me at msbprice (at) gmail (dot) com. Slightly odd with the brackets, to reduce auto-spam, but you know that I mean "@" and "." in the address.
Oh ok, I thought there might be a list of participants posted somewhere like kully posted in the Euromeet 2012 thread here > http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114531

Free parking at Prague 1, 2, 3 and 7 is available only to residents with special parking card or it is paid (due to the lack of parking space for residents). The paid zones are available to anyone over the weekends and holidays.
So yes, there are nice hotel/hostels with decent price within 30 minutes walking distance to the center but not many has garage or parking.
The supplay of hotels/hostels is sooo huuuge that I dont dare to recommend any. Who would say that in the 80s there were not more than five (5!) hotels in whole city of Prague..

Thanks for the good tips on parking possibilities for those who will need them.
In the first post in this thread, I have added a list of RFF'rs who have sent contact details. So far there are just eight of us - any more people considering their options?!
My own travel plans are to arrive by night-train on the Thursday morning and to leave on the evening of the following Tuesday, so 16th-21st May. I will be staying on a campsite, just West of the river.

Ok, I just booked my flight and hotel. I'll arrive on Thursday 16th of May, at 20.10 at the airport, and I'll have a shuttle to the Galileo Hotel.
If anybody else will already be there on Thursay evening, maybe we can meet somewhere ?
Stefan.

Lets place it here.
Indeed it is - in the very first post of the thread.
We are now up to nine, with the addition of Gliderbee just now.
My e-mail address, for assembling contact details and working out who is going to turn up, is listed in post 107 of this thread. I used an e-mail address rather than RFF messaging as it is more flexible.

This is a little bump for the thread.
Also, I have just corrected my mistake in the RFF username of jan7l. My apologies Janko.
The idea of having everyone contactable before we meet up on Saturday morning, is to enable communication over delays or last-minute changes to the meeting location etc. You won't be spammed with Holga adverts (probably). My email is msbprice (at) gmail (dot) com with the (at) and the (dot) replaced with the usual symbols.

I have been thinking what to recommend here in Prague for something else than the most notorious tourist routes. Here is a few suggestions:
For morning walks (the "earlier" morning the better) I do recommend start at Pohorelec (Tram 22) which is slightly above the Prague castle.
From there walk Keplerova street to the next (previous) tram stop Brusnice and streets Jeleni - Cerninska - Novy svet. You will be rewarded by nice contra light and other than usual sights of Prague castle silhouette.
From Novy svet walk to Kanovnicka - Zamecke schody for more morning views on Prague.
From Zamecke schody you may either walk up a bit back to Prague castle and then down to Mala strana by the visually spectacular Zamecke schody stairway to Thunovska street and further to Snemovni and Valdstejnska.
Or you can proceed to Nerudova and walk down the street for some 50 meters untill you will see small downhill steps on the right. That route will take you to the back streets of Mala strana, direction to Vlasska street (where the German embassy is located) and even more downhill it will become Trziste street (where U.S and Irish embassy is located).
From Trziste you can turn to Kermelitska - Ujezd where the Sudek Gallery is located and then maybe discover the back streets around Ujezd and Kampa or if you can go to Hellichova and up to Petrinske sady (or use the cableway which will take you to the Eiffel tower "miniature").

Totally different location is Vyton (tram 3, 7, 17 or 10-15minutes of walk from centre) next to the river and spectacular railway bridge. This location is best for early morning or late afternoon visit for the best light. Early morning is my favorite as there is not many people around and you can get the best of the bridge.
From Vyton you can go either back to the centre by the back streets Vysehredska - Karlovo namesti (and have spectacular breakfast in caffe on the corner of Na morani and Vaclavska street), or turn the other way and thru Vratislavova street climb on the Vysehrad area where you can comfortably spend another hour or two enjoying the view on Prague castle and Prague city from yet another different angle.

I'll explore these areas on the map! Thank you for the ideas Pavel.
From tomorrow until Monday I'll be completely offline, but don't let that stop everyone else posting.

And some practical tips
Prague is in general very safe city unless you will be at "wrong place at the wrong time". There are no real "No Go" areas in the city.
But Prague is a tourist destination and that always attracts some petty crime (pesky pick pockets, taxi drivers asking multiple of the true rate, unhelpful public transport ticket control taking advantage of confused tourists...)
You can avoid troubles if you follow basic rules and common sense.
First - mind your luggage and personal belongings, especially at the busy spots like railway station, airport, public transport, hotel lobby and restaurants.
Have your wallet and ID/Passport somewhere safe on you, never in your backpack pocket or outer pocket of your jacket for example.
Second - if you are going to use public transport get you valid ticket (best for 48 hours or such) and validate it in the dedicated orange color machine (simply slip the ticket into it for time/date stamp) before you will proceed into the subway area or the tram/bus vehicles. The public transport ticket control DOES NOT have authority to take your ID/Passport in case of dispute! They can call Municipal Police to their help to perform the ID check, but they do not have the right to take your ID to blackmail you by holding it (so never give it to them in the first place!)
If you are going to take a cab / Taxi, best way is to call it by phone, but even then always ask in advance what it may cost in total (estimation). If not happy, ask for receipt.
If you take taxi on the street, ask for the total price estimation BEFORE you get in the taxi!
The telephone numbers:
Emergency (for both, Police and Ambulance at the same time) - 112
Police - 158
Ambulance - 155
Czech Republic telephone "country code" is +420

Maybe I've been sleeping, but:
Do we have a meeting point for Saturday morning? I remember someone fixing the meeting time to 10:00 am, but where do we meet?

Not yet. We don't have a meeting point for friday evening because some are already there and probably would like to meet in the evening too. I'm pretty sure we find some place to meet

(After my working long-weekend I'm back in communication.)
The contact-detail list will be sent out tomorrow evening as I'll be travelling on Wednesday night. In theory I will have access to "free Wifi" where I'm staying, so will send any last minute info from the campsite.
Before the weekend I'll walk round and follow the suggestions of pavel, in his posts above. What does everyone want to do at the weekend? Most likely not walk around museums, but rather walk around Prague? That is the impression I have got in previous Euromeets, but I just thought I should ask . . .
Lawrence enquired about visiting the Sudek museum. There is a show there ending on Sunday, so it would be more sensible to go before the weekend instead of after it. Are there more interested for a mini-meet before the weekend?
Regarding the meeting location for Saturday, we should consider where everyone is staying - presumably South of the river, but not in the old centre. I expect any cafe could manage a dozen people without too much problem so how about one of those recommended by our Prague colleagues and seen on the Google-map?
