Philippines Filipino RF users!!!

nick,
i saw some taking shots of the 78 player. the companion of luis, a youngish chap, took shots of jay's turntable. and, timmy took a candid with his medium format camera. and that's it. we all forgot to take a group shot. kahit na ala magnum group shot where we cover our faces with our hands.

I guess since being photographers, we take pictures most of the time, we often forget to have pictures taken of ourselves. Once, my wife and I were fixing our albums, my wife noticed that we had so few pictures of me.

magandang araw sainyo

magandang araw sainyo

Jan 9

Anyone interested in photographing the Jan 9 Nazareno event in Quiapo? Lots of photoops, and rf and toycameras are most suitable tools for events like this.

Welcome to the forum, Buck! Looking forward to your posts. It's good that our little group is growing. Sana dumami pa, hehehe. :D

I hope you guys make it to the Quiapo Fiesta. :)

Welcome Buckpago! Bago din ako sa rangefinder camera. So far, 1 roll pa lang. Nasa developer pa at aabutin daw ng isang linggo dahil black and white.

Jay, when I first looked at your rff gallery, I wondered why that shot of feet sticking out of a calesa was so familiar. Then this morning, I felt like listening to Truefaith's acoustic CD. Upon opening the CD case, I saw the feet pic and read that you did the sleeve photography. ;)

i was even thinking of trying out a newly acquired Tura Easy Cam. this is a cheapo p&s that works best with iso 400 films, it states. napagtripan ko lang bilin. and, my canonet. i have a friend who is going with his dslr. he says so long as he comes in early, he will be okay. and stays clear when the crowd gets really thick. i said, good luck.
but i have work tomorrow. :bang:
when is next good photo op, jay? valentine? :D or cenaculo? i would appreciate early notice so i can clear up my sked.

buck,
were you the one taking a picture of jay's japanese miniature horn recorder?
anyway, welcome aboard.

Had a fine, productive day at the Fiesta Nazareno in Quiapo today. Jake Verzosa was there. Luis Liwanag too. Had the R-D1s with me and shot a lot with it. Also had a Zorki-5 and was able to run two BW rolls through - my last Colpan and a Fomapan roll (from Annie).

Was planning to be like HCBresson by sticking with 50mm/normals only. Did that with the R-D1s by keeping the 35mm Jupiter on it for the day. And because Luis seemed to have so much fun with a 28 in his new baby M4-2, I thought that I should do the same with the Zorki and replaced the 50 with the 28 too.

We even met Buck and Uro at the MRT terminal. Pauwi na kami nang makasalubong namin si Buck. Then a few minutes later, si Uro. Parang RF eb ulit! :D

I have to work on the files and develop the rolls first before I can post any of the pics.

Nick: Yes, the calesa photo is in the Truefaith Album. I work a lot with that band. Friends ko sila.

Ed: Next event in the agenda would be Chinese New Year in Binondo. Hope that many more would be able to come.

jay,
looking forward to your posts (and others as well) on the nazarene.
and, will work on my sked for the chinese new year. i will be with a Fil-Chi group this weekend -- the kaisahan. do you think we can use some help from them? or will that rub off part of the fun? they might be interested in our photos, i was thinking. (pardon my presumptuousness:D).

If anyone here knows the work of the late Filipino master photograher Eduardo Masferré, -"the father of Filiipino photograhy"- especially what's happening now with his archive, I'd be very intersted in hearing from you. Thanks, Pablito
