I'm working my way through a batch of XTOL, using it 1:1. The results with Foma 200 are much better looking than what I've had with TX or HP4/HP5. Quite an eye-opener for me.
BTW Stefan has been getting great results with Tri-X and Tetenal T lately. Worth a look.

Download the Fomapan data sheets from their website which gives already a lot of information about these films.

I have just bought 10 rolls of formapan 200 & 10 rolls of 400 As im almost out of Ilford and Kodak---which cost a lot more
I tried APX seems ok but what ive read hear it seems formapan will be better ill see
Ive also ordered Adox CHS 100 II to try @ 39.50 for 10 the Adox CMS 20 11 @ 4.20€ each or 39.90 for 10 looks interesting cant decide id i should buy 2 to try of 10 for the discount 16asa is slow

First Foma 400 Developed in LQN 1:10 iso 320
The scans seem pretty grainy so it will be interesting to see how a wet print looks. Nice tones.

Retropan 320 also E.I. 320 in HC-110 (B) 9:00 minutes (20C). Test bear and charts with the Leica Summarit F/2,5-75mm wide open and the M7.

I just received a can to test. I keep on hearing more grain than Foma 400. Your thoughts? Scans don't worry me, I am more concerned about how it looks wet printed.

Correct about the grain: More grain then the FP400 but also more speed (a real iso 320) and it is a low contrast type film so pushing to E.I. 640 is no problem if you can live with the grain.

Now I will try developers with ascorbic acid to process these films. Earlier I had bad luck: no details in the shadows, quite high contrast-see pictures. I will mix an Xtol-clone on my own to overcome these issues.

I can recommend PC-TEA from Pat Gainer. In 1+50 it works like Xtol 1+2.

Here is a 6x9cm (approx) sheet of Foma Retro 320 Soft, processed in straight Microdol-X. 1/8 f16 camera on tripod
The original negative is 9x12cm, and the image has been cropped down somewhat for scanning.
Exposed on a very overcast day, Plaubel Makiflex Standard, Kern Arau 360mm F11 process lens at f/16.
Since this film is not available in 120, this is an alternative for me. I like this film so far! 🙂
