got camera kit?

I thought I was going to Europe several years ago when my daughter was there. Never happened. My kit was a Yashical FX 103, 18-28, 28-70, 75-150, and Contax 50mm f/1.4 lenses, Yashica FX 3 as backup, dedicated flash, a Welta 6x6 folder, and a Luna Pro meter. Never made the trip, but I keep the kit together. I also have a Kiev kit with 4 lenses in a bag that stays together. I couldn't see trying to slep the Super Press 23 and its 4 lenses along, but sure would have enjoyed having it.

Your kit is nice FrankS, but too many cameras for me unless I have a big van or camper to carry it all in, then there would be the Cambo and lenses, the Super Press 23 and lenses and backs, the Zeiss 6x9 folder, the ... :D

Save some cash and make that trip before 'Doomsday'...and we'll have one last fling! :D

This is a topic of recurring fascination to me. For travel, I currently take one of the following "kits," depending on where I'm going, how I'm traveling, and whether photography is incidental or a major reason for the trip:

1) Minimalist: Oly XA w/ iso 800 film.

2) Lightweight: M2 + 50 & (35 or 28), loaded w/ bw; Oly XA w/ color film.

3) A little less lightweight: M2 + 40; Bessa T w/ "character" 50 (e.g., Elmar, or Canon 50/1.5);
28; possibly a 100 too.

4) Hiking/backpacking: Bessa T + 40 or 50; either Oly XA or Leica IIIc + (35 or 28); possibly a 100 too.

Thus, apart from #1, I fall into the two cameras, 3 lenses camp. Usually, color film goes in one camera and bw in the other.

When I was very young, I carried a Cosmorex SE and that was all, because that was all that I had.

When I was younger, I carried a Nikon F2A + FE + 28/50/105 and a Vivitar Series 1 35-85 and also a Rollei 35T, because I thought I needed all of it.

When I was a college student, I carried either a Rollei 35T or a Nikon FE and 50mm lens (and a 28mm, if I was shooting college basketball) and a lot of Tri-X. I shot a lot of Tri-X in those days.

When I was less old, I carried a Zeiss Ikon Contax IIa, 35-50-135 and a 120 folder.

These days, I sometimes take an SLR (been messing a bit with a Minolta XD11) and often a 120 folder. Or sometimes the aforementioned Contax IIa kit.

Film is often a 100-speed b/w and occasionally some Rollei infrared.
