How about starting a 50mm/1.5 lens test?

Hi Raid, on the 3 f2 images, I like the 3rd for the skin color, and the first for being in focus.

You have so many uncontrolled variables going on, that it doesn't matter to me what lenses you're using, but they're very nice photos.

Looking at multiple images taken by the same lens will alllow you later on to better see which lenses you like. Yes, there are many uncontrolled variables, but this will not prevent you from seeing the qualities of certain lenses. Sometimes, there is a focus shift [certain lenses are known for this feature], and sometimes the model moves or I get tired after taking so many photos back to back.

for the lens test of the 3 images at f2 I would say:
A: summilux
B: J-3
C: Zeiss ZM
A and C are the most contrasty and précise lens, so I assume the 2 is the J-3 because it's the softer of all. And B & C have something in common, so I assume they are both sonnar.
Am I right?
As for the few comments I think it is quite difficult to comments those images, but keep posting it, that's very interresting!
And for the second test (4 pictures, which one you prefer) I thhink it's very difficult because the light isn't always the same, but I don't like the image A's bokeh, and the image B is too contrasty for the skin (IMHO) ;
So I really prefer the last two. I assume the last one is a jupiter 3 (same little "blurry" feel) (D), maybee the C is a Zeiss ZM?

My French is horrible, and your English is wonderful.

For the first three images:
A: J-3
B: Carl Zeiss Sonnar ZM
C: Summilux-M

The four images following the first three were taken at similar light, My wife was sitting 1.5 m from the open front door of our home, and I added a source of artifical light indoors.
The last one was not the J-3 but was the costly Summilux-M.
These lenses are not the same lenses as the first three.

J-3 are always suprising, and often in good!
It's the more "creamy" bokeh of those 3 pics, by far.

I also tested the use of two adapters simultaneously with the Prominent Nokton 50mm 1.5. In the photo, the focus point was the black straw. The image was sharp,and I conclude that using the adapters has not seriously affected the sharpness of the Nokton. My earlier posted unsharp image taken with the Prominent Nokton must have been an error on my side. It could be that the lens was not fully mounted on the camera.
Here, first a Prominent to Contax adapter is used [belongs to our Mark], followed by a Contax to Leica M adapter [belongs to our John]. The cost of both adapter combined is about $500.

I recalled a drop in light reaching the film, but I don't know whether the reason was the use of two adapters or a cloud passing by.

Raid, the Nokton definately looks nice and sharp in this test. BTW, the adapter was $50, from eBay seller foto-hobby, based in Poland.

Hi Mark,

I stand corrected regarding the cost of the two adapters.
I will try to get such an adapter for my lens.

The Contax-M or Contax-LTM adapter would make Contax lenses readily useful for my LTM/M cameras. This adapter is not cheap.
 
I got interested in finding out how good the Summilux is, so I threw in some of my lenses that are not 1.4/1.5.

Rigid summicron 50mm 2.0 at 2.8
Nikkor H 50mm 2.0 at 2.8

The following three images include a Summicron, a Nikon,and a Summilux at 2.8:

The focus point is the black straw. The negative is scratched in one of the images, as it is shown.

I tried to bring in several factors here. The OOF of the backyard, plus the flare in the candle light, plus the straw for focusing.

I am seeing the first of the last three images has the background better defined in the central portion of the image. The OOF leaves have a more defined shape than in the last two images.

Thank you very much, Roland. This will keep us all quite busy for a while.
I went to your website, using the link below, and I inspected the full size images.

There is a "menu" that slips out from the right margin, and when choosing ORIGINAL, you get a full sized image.

By the way guys, the last number [when given] are the last two digits of the lens's serial number.

Nikkor 50 1p4 45 means: Nikkor 50mm 1.4 with serial number XXXXXXXX45.
The owner of the lens will recognize his lens this way.

The Summilux image should have been in focus. The other Summilux images that I have obtained were sharp.
