Over past few years my film camera collection has grown quite a bit - about 30 cameras for now (shown in my signature). They are mostly compact and inexpensive cameras. Haven't bought anything for a month since I haven't seen affordable yet interesting ones beyond my collection. Maybe it is a good sign - the GAS has stopped. How about your?

That's actually quite good. The only thing else I want to try is a 120 folder (Perkeo, Bessa etc), but to get a decent MF scanner would cost too much.After a quick look in my cupboard, it would seem to be more than 12

I have 4 at the moment, but pretty keen to add a 4x5 camera into the mix.

I have a couple of folders, Zeiss Super Ikonta III,and a Bessa I, both very nice, and both have their advantages.
My brother has a Canon 9000F, a relatively cheap scanner, but for medium format, it will drag pretty good detail out of a negative. A 6x9 neg is so big, even if you only get half the detail, it's probably still more than any full frame digital.

Thanks for the explaination. For MF, I have to admit that not only the cost of a scanner, but also the cost of film/process make me hesitate. It seems the cameras themselves are not very expensive though.

I seem to go through periods of experimenting with different cameras. At the moment I have 2 M2's, 2 Leicaflex SL's, an F2, an FM2n and an F5. I could let go of an M2 and the Nikon F2 and FM2n but the SL's, F5 and one M2 are keepers.
The answer to your question though is I suppose just one. Any more than that is a luxury. My Dad had just one SLR since 1976 with a standard 50 and he never wanted or needed anything else. I gave him a Nikon DSLR with an AF 18-55 and even the one film camera never sees any film. My Mum has had a Yashica T4 for as long as I can think back. My Dad gave it to her and I think she's put about 5 rolls through it!

Depends on what one does I suppose. I've gone through periods using all of mine (there are lots of them in the cabinet). These days I'm shooting mostly 120 and LF again, as well as making images without any camera or lens at all.
