How would you feel if I posted pictures taken with my Panasonic LX1 camera in the user gallery? I just got it a few days ago, and its a very fun camera to use. Best digital I have yet to own. I think I will write up a short review too, when I get more familiar with the camera. Just wanted to ask before I make anybody mad about 'non-rf' pictures...

As long as they are labelled as such why should anyone care? there is a point and shoot forum on RFF and I think high end digital compacts are the natural successors to mass-market rangefinders

Personally I don't give a pair of dingo's kidneys if an image was created via Doctor Pixel or Mr Halide.

If it's a good image that is all that counts. From a personal view, all my gallery images are from RFs and that is my choice, I'll not knock a digital capture or manipulated image in other galleries. Everyone to there own. It's the final result that matters.

Thanks Joe,

I am new here and also new to using RF cameras. I would like it if the Gallery was a "preserve" limited to RF photos so that I can look to it for inspiration (or whatever) as to what can be accomplised with the RF cameras.

If the Gallery is going to contain photos/images from all types of cameras - how does it serve as a "showcase" for RFs? After all, isn't this the Rangefinder Forum?

I think this would be better suited for the DSLR forum. It could use the traffic, and other posters use Digital P&S as well.

I think posting pics in a thread and leaving them out of the gallery is a good compromise. I use the gallery a lot when researching gear. I'd like to see it stay RF only.

okay, I will just keep em to my flickr I guess. the fact is that the camera really remindes me of a rolli or some other guess focus camera from the 70s. I will put up a review when i feel i have gotten used to the camera.

A few of the Gallery sections started out by stating, "For any type camera"; like Northwest Photos 😎 . So if it were in one of those, I'd see no problem.

Post them in the gallery when you post your review. Clearly mark them as "review" examples from the Panasonic. Give us all a chance to look at them and then if anyone complains (I doubt anyone will) just delete them. 🙂
