Well if money really isn't a problem......
Then I would fly to Romania and rent a red Ferrari to drive along the Transfagarasan while stopping to take pictures of the countryside

If I remember correctly, romanian roads are not the ideal playground for Ferrari's... 😀

Family responsibilities, especially with regards to time and money. Children tend to refocus ones attention away from personal wants. Not that I'd change anything, I just haven't yet gotten to some places I want to go.

I guess we all have our own reasons for going/not going to places that we want to visit and photograph......I have been to over 30 countries so far, and some of them I have visited multiple times......my older brother who has an excellent job, nice car, beautiful house and a lovely family has never stepped foot outside of the U.S.....and to be honest, I don't think he really has a desire to travel outside the U.S.......that said.....these differences among us make the world an interesting and beautiful place.....I envy some of you who are content on staying local and photographing your local area.....
my life would be a lot easier if I did not have this burning desire to
see/witness/photograph and travel around this world that we live in.....to each his own....as long as you're happy and live a good life and don't intentionally harm others.....that's what it is all about (well at least to me it is)
Ironically, as I write this post, sitting in the airport waiting to board my plane, I do realize that I am going to one of the biggest 'open air prisons' in the world....that said, the local people are some of the nicest that I have ever met anywhere, and I am happy that I can go there and spend time with them, purchase products from family run shops, stay in family run guest houses and have interesting conversations with the locals....I am not sure who asks more questions about our respective countries, them or me.....hahaha

While I could say some "exotic" place overseas, I've been around the world 3 times. Took a camera with me every step. It's not boring but there are places that I took for granted when I was younger and I think I'd like to go there and shoot them.

My hometown area. I think I may have takenno more than 10 photos in those little towns. I could do an exhaustive study there. It would probably be one of the harder ones for me too since there's the comfort of being "home."
Next time I get out there, I'll take both digitals and make myself an assignment.
Good thread. It made me really think about what I'd like to shoot and what I should shoot.

I always seem to come back from places with photos I'm not 100% happy with. Because of that I'd absolutely love to go back to both Nepal and Myanmar to "reshoot" now that I have an idea of what to expect and how I responded to either place.
But in saying that, sometimes I find it hard to justify the costs of such a trip to a place I've already been to when there's somewhere else new and exciting I could go to. So because of that, I'm going to have to say either Mongolia or Greenland. Both places I've been incredibly keen to go to to shoot for a while now.

A few years ago I was made redundant and ended up with parallel plans of either finding a suitable job, or making an interesting trip. The idea I decided on was to fly to Vladivostok (the furthest away I could get from where I live without an ocean in the way) and come back by public transport.
It's almost in Japan anyway, so a side-trip of a couple of months over there was also on the agenda. My redundancy pay would have funded the trip.
(Un-)fortunately(?) I got a good job offer before buying tickets. 😱
Two weeks seems a bit short to change the world though, so I suppose we are talking about holidays and there's nothing wrong with that.🙂 Something like the 'little' project in Liberia by Tim Hetherington(RIP) had him living there for eight years...

The top of my list will be Shibuya District in Japan. From what I have read and heard the place is bustling with energy.
The second one for me is Manhattan. It is probably the street photography capital of the world.
Third for me is L.A. California, I have been there once but I don't know how to use a camera then, I miss the place and will want to photograph it extensively 🙂
