After many years I finally have an M again. Yesterday my new M4-2 arrived and I'm in love again. I was worried about scratching my glasses and have been looking for a rubberised eye piece without much luck beyond magnifiers or DIY options, so I was pleasantly surprised when the M4-2 arrived with a rubberised viewfinder. I haven't seen the results from my first film yet but in operation it has felt solid. Currently fitted with a jupiter8 50mm f2 on a M to L39 adaptor (is there any way to make the adaptor set the correct bright frame?) I am waiting on a new Voigtlander 35mm f2.5 Skopar which will be the lens that spends most of the time fitted.

I've used one and it looks like the Elmarit 28 ASPH with slightly less even field and pronounced vignetting. It renders details more delicately.
In fact even its diagram looks like the Elmarit (although it predates the later), with 7 elements in 4 groups - 2 aspherical surfaces. With such an advanced design and tonnes of dead GR1s around, it's too bad Mr. Miyazaki won't convert it since he can't put one into his ready made barrels...

I was always tempted by the UC-Hexanon, but the MFD... had a Ultron ltm once and the lacking 20cm drove me crazy...
