Informal portraits of artists

These were shot during a guided tour at the Puerto Rico Museum of Contemporary Art. All of the portraits are of Puerto Rican artists who's work is part of the Museum's collection, and each of which spoke about his or her particular piece in the exhibition.

They sell for like 50% of new on the used market.

I only paid £1100 for a good as new one with very low shutter count from a dealer, I went for the black one and think it's great especially if you have a load of old nikkors. Cheaper than a secondhand 35mm summicron!

Nikkor lenses (most of them Ai or Ais) are by far the most represented brand in my cabinet. In fact I use them all on my D610 already. Sounds like you got a great camera Fraser and I hope it serves you well!

Df with 43-86mm,
Picked up one of the infamous 43-86mm zoom on the big auction site to see how bad they really are!
Was a bit disappointed nothing wrong with it!
Shot wide open and back-lit.

The 43-86 gets an unfair shake - the later ones are actually pretty decent so long as you don't mind distortion. I had a pre AI that was nasty, but my last model one is OK.

My one is a very early pre ai one, ok its not up to modern standards but if someone had given me one for my Nikon F in the mid 60s I think I would have been over the moon!
