I have two rangefinders, a Kiev and a Leica... they're locked and loaded!kuvvy said:Infromation recieved says they are likely to be carrying digital weapons with the intention of random shooting. We have an advantage though with our stealthy rangefinders. Prepare to seek and capture!

What about a 21mm Elmarit?Bobfrance said:Remember - Don't shoot till you see the whites of their eyes. Unless you've got a 21mm biogon of course, you'd have probably walked into them by then.![]()

I'm OK for Sunday - I will have to pay a quick visit to the office (how sad is that?), so I have 2 reasons to be in Manchester.
I'm rolling a bunch of B&W films - if anyone wants to try the following I will have plenty with me:
XP2
Delta 100
APX400
Tri-X (new style)
See you tomorrow.

Damnit... last minute change. I'm needed elsewhere today.
Sunday, I'm still able to get there though.

I'll grab a random bunch of b&w film and stuff it in the bag. Not sure whether to take RF only or RF + OM.

Guys,
I was planning to travel to Manchester tonight but I can't do that now. I've just discovered that the earliest I can get there tomorrow by train is 12.57pm, so I may have to give it a miss. If I do join you, I have Bob's mobile number so I can find out where you are.
Regards
Ernst

Hmm, the rain seems to be causing some chaos at the moment.
I believe Noel, may be strugglingto make it due to flooding.
I'm still okay for tomorrow (probably going to drive/paddle). How's everyone else faring?
Bob.
P.S. Just heard Vincent is already in Manchester and he's come all the way from Scotland! (currently shooting with Tom) So let that serve as an example to any who are faltering at the thought of a little rain.

It's true; I just got back to civilisation (the east). It was a bit damp - I mainly had to stick to cameras small enough to fit up my sleeve, but we had a great day exploring at random. I hadn't walked around much in Manchester before. It's a bit of a visual feast.
Have a good day tomorrow, and go easy on Vincent; he's walked about 8 miles today!

Ah ha! A report from our scouting party.
I'm glad it went well Tom and I look forward to seeing the pics.
If Vincent can walk 8 miles around Manchester I think he'll have to go easy on us!

What's the meeting place for tomorrow? Still Picadilly station, at that coffee place on the bridge thing?

Yep, unless it's too full. In which case we'll hang around just below the big info boards. We should be easy to spot - we're the dodgy looking ones with the camera bags.

Well, it could have been 6...
As for the pictures, there are about 25 rolls ahead of them in the queue, but I might make an exception for these. I managed to shoot a roll of Delta 3200 at ASA400 by mistake, but it was about four years old, so I'm hoping it will even out :bang:

Mrs PJ and oldest daughter have found out I'm headed into Manchester - so they've ganged up on me to give them a lift there (and presumably home too) to go shopping :bang: no new camera gear for a while then
. Hopefully they will be ready in time.

Just got back.
Remarkably the weather was fairly good until 4ish when the rain finally got us.
It was a great day and really nice to finally meet up with some fellow RFFers.
Special thanks to vincent for lending me his M6 for the day and to everybody for bringing loads of interesting gear to look at.
Also a big thanks to Jem at the real camera co. for specially opening up the shop for us and serving brews.
Photos to follow provided any are a) in foucus and b) correctly exposed.
It was my first time with an M6 after all!
Bob.

The next "Northern Day Out", I'll have to show you how to load a Standard whilst walking.
It was an enjoyable day, regardless of the weather finally failing. That shop was an eye-opener, I've never seen so many film-based cameras available to buy, even when I worked in a camera shop in the 80's.
