Official announcement of Nokton 35mm F1.2 II

1) I am not complaining about the cost of lenses themselves, I am complaining about begging manufacturers to increase prices. Everyone keeps choosing to ignore that in their responses to me because they can't argue against that. I'm right.

Except that no one actually "begged to increase prices" in the first place, at least until you barged in and the discussion went downhill anyway.

2) Soviet lenses cannot focus accurately on Leicas. It is not 'theoretical', it is an established, scientifically verifiable, irrefutable fact of their mechanical design etc. pp.
Yeah, I guess we all know the theory. It's like saying you can't take an in-focus portrait at f/2.8 or whatever with a Sonnar because of focus shift - theoretically well-established, scientifically verifiable, irrefutable, correct, focus shift exists, we all know this, blah, blah, but nevertheless people who know their gear well enough manage to do it anyway. No wall of text is a replacement for taking pictures.

Let's talk earrings instead.

I thought about sending Gandy a $100 depost (as mentioned on the cameraquest.com site), but I think I'm going to wait for the early adopters to try this one out.

Update email from Stephen:

"Greetings!

I estimate the 35/1.2 V2 to be shipping by the end of August.
I expect the price increase over the V1 to be minimal.

Many Thanks,
Stephen"

I got the same email. I am hoping for Tom A to post some sample images! ;)

I can't wait to receive mine and test it out for myself.

I bet the real price for the v2 will be around $100 bucks higher than the v1 and all this complaining about what it's SUPPOSED to cost will have been a waste of time (pun intended).

it's here?

it's here?

Hi all, just came across the new 35 1.2 II on the bay in Germany by foto mundus. The item number is 390340275896 but they have a few on sale.
The price is around the EUR1270.

I do hope this price is for the early adopters and once the lens becomes readily available it will drop in price somewhat.

I am excited that it is finally here and am waiting with bated breath at some reports/feedback on it's performance and rendering.

The wait is killing me!

Leicashot, since you are first on the list, closer to Cameraquest than me and have an M9 we expect a thorough review ASAP! ;)

I'm very curious to see how it compares to the v1.

That's more or less the price Robert White are listing it at, on their website. Which makes it around £140 more that the first version.

I will definitely get something up asap. I won't have the previous version to compare to unless someone else in LA has one, but I will be sure to give it a good run through and get something up the same day I get it.

i stumbled across a great deal on one of these so grabbed it. seems a little smaller than the previous version. cant wait to try it out :D

Jonmanjiro, as the honorary first RFF member to acquire this lens it is now your responsibility to provide feedback and samples....that is, if you know how to work a non-Nikkor lens ;)
