2/50 Summicron DR. This is my all time favorite lens.

If I'm going out at night or it's really overcast I'll grab the pre-asph 1.4/50 Summilux-M, for the extra stop.

My 2nd choice is a 35mm. The 2/35 Summcron (vers.4) or 1.4/35 Summilux ASPH. I prefer the 35 for street shooting. Around here the sidewalks are a little too narrow for a 50.

I waffle a bit - but recently have been using the 35/1.7 ultron quite regularly so that gets my vote. I do love that perspective, especially for environmental portraits.

Although with a new Canon 50/1.2 in the bag, that might flop back around soon.

I see the 35 is approaching the 50, it's going to be a close finish (if the poll ever finishes). I like both, and alternate between them, but for street stuff, definitely wider is better for me. I do love the shallower dof of the 50, however, for more planned stuff.

Monty Python scene of the old troll at the bridge.
Troll,"WHAT, is your favorite focal length?"
Me,"Why 35mm.... NO WAIT, 50mm. Arrrrrggggghhhh! (As I plunge into the ravine)"

I have only three lenses. 45mm, 65mm, and 100mm lenses for the Bronica RF645.

My favorite daily carry lens is the 45mm because I can crop the others from the wide field of view (with some DOF variation). When I owned the Bessa R3A, I had the Nokton 40 SC and that was a perfect lens as well. I guess I like wide lenses.

I rarely go out with just one lens, but when I do, it can be either the Summitar or the 35/3.5 Summaron. Only today an Industar 61 L/D arrived from Oleg K. That might become IT since, as with the Summitar, I can take off the VIOOH and travel really light.

Hard...

Hard...

Well... I think I'd say 50 because my Zorki 4 has only a 50 VF and attaching an external VF would take out all the fun of the Zorki. But I'm about to get a Konica Hexar AF with the fixed 35mm and I hope it to become my main camera.

The main problem I think will be getting used to another focal length, since 98% of my pictures were taken with the Zorki 4+Jupiter 8 50/2 combination. And my brain has automatized the view of the 50mm focal length.

But... many times, specially at bars, pubs, public small places, subway, bus, I've regretted not having a wide angle. So... not voting the 50 would be a betray to my long time loyalty to the "normal" focal length, but voting for it could become some kind of future lie.

Let's see what happens when I get the Hexar... possibilities:

:bang: or 😀

Cheers everyone people,
Sebastian.
