I just got this lens to use on my Bessa R3a and i must say it's really different from my Nokton 40mm 1.4.

It's not as clinical but it certainly alot of character!

I just shot another roll of Fuji Superia 1600 through it and it did reasonably well again. My Nokton 40mm 1.4 color's are alot punchier though, but then again, the leica adds its own character to the shots.

i just loaded a roll of Kodak T-max. Can't wait to see the results!

You've been bitten by the Leica bug! 😀 It is a wonderful lens though. I had to go to the DR version because I couldn't stand the infinity lock on the rigid. Great pictures! Keep it up!! 🙂

I want to be bitten by the Leica bug, but i can't afford it! ): lol.
You're right, the infinity lock is indeed quite obtrusive.

Now...where can i find a M-Rokkor 40...😛

It is very easy to disable the infinity lock. Just unscrew the flat screw at the back (a pair of needle nose pliers works fine). The whole thing comes off and just put it away (i usually forget were it is and they are lost forever). If you are going to be using the lens, with no intentions of ever trading it in, you can also file down the "cam" that is used to lock it. I usually do this to all my "infernal" - sorry "infinity" lock lenses. Much better ergonomics and you know that no collector is ever going to harass you for it. I have seen some of them visible pale when seeing my black paint S-cron 50 rigid with the brassing from filing away the cam!
