Normalfatz is nice
Correct would be Normal Faltz.
If these fit by your Makiflex, you can search for Zeiss Ikon 659/7 cassettes or Universal Faltz Zeiss Ikon 665/7.

As far as I know the Plaubel cassettes are a bit different in the upper part of the "Faltz" - so Normal - or Universal will fit but Plaubel cassettes are useless for other cameras.
I´ve got here a 6,5x9 cassette and gave a 6x6 Rollfilm back away to a friend in Canada as it wouldn´t fit my little Avus.

My Present Collection of 9x12cm Film.
My Present Collection of 9x12cm Film.
This size is sketchy to source in the USA. On the left, 100 sheets of Efke PL100, one of my favorite B&W emulsions. On the right, something interesting. On Ebay I found fifty sheets of 9x12 Svema 64. The seller said he used some of it, and got some interesting images, using it at about EI 12. This will be fun to play with. Expiration date 1992, I believe.
Both Freestyle and B&H presently have fifty sheet boxes of 9x12cm Fomapan 100 in stock, if anybody here is interested. Not a bad price at either place for fifty sheets, at $47.99. Thinking of ordering a few boxes for the freezer.
I have successfully processed this film, in an 8x10 Unicolor Unidrum Print Drum (four sheets at a time) on a Unicolor Uniroller.

OK I have solved my mystery as to who makes the German holders with the vertical ribs. I googled around and found the original catalog for RADA.
http://www.galerie-photo.com/manuels/dos-rada.pdf
I also ordered 100 sheets of the 9x12cm FOMA 100 from Freestyle.

You're Welcome, oftheherd.
I've also discovered MacoDirect in Germany, they sell FOMA 9x12 at really good prices, best I have seen! So I ordered 200 sheets of FOMA 400 9x12cm from them, at a total cost of $133.49US. That is only .67US/sheet, versus $105.97 for 100 sheets of FOMA 100 from Freestyle in the USA. Oh, Well :bang:
Here is MacoDirect's listing of 9x12 films:

Thanks again! Also to Mr_Flibble for his endorsement. I will be looking into that. I noted they also have Fomapan 100 in 4x5 and 8x10. That's interesting. Was there much shipping and to they waive the VAT for US shipments?

12 Euros for www.macodirect.de shipping four 50 sheet boxes of 9x12cm FOMA to the USA. I guess I got charged VAT, because I was charged the regular catalog price. They also have FOMA 200 in 9x12cm.
Another interesting website is www.lumiere-shop.de and they have "Wephota Planfilm 100 ASA" in 6x9cm and 9x12 at extremely good prices. I started to order, but at checkout the shipping to USA looked kind of pricey to me at 50 Euros. So I am reconsidering what kind of quantities to order from them.

I will have to ask. It looks like it would knock about 5 Euros off the price of the Fomapan 9x12 100. Even so, a nice price.

300 Sheets of 9x12cm FOMA 100.
300 Sheets of 9x12cm FOMA 100.
Two boxes came from Freestyle Photo. The other four boxes came from www.macodirect.de
Still thinking about buying some 9x12cm Ilford HP5+, so that I have something more speedy for certain occasions.
Going into my deep freeze for now. Still shooting up Efke PL100 in 9x12cm. Also testing the 9x12cm plate holders for light-tightness.

I was given a 1930's Voigtlander 'AVUS' by an Austrian Lecturer at University College, London in about 1969 when I was a Scientific Photographer there.

I got a 'RADA' rollfilm back taking 120 rollfilm -- here is a result --

I've wanted for awhile to build up my stock of 9x12cm sheet film. Just ordered 300 sheets of FOMA 200 from www.macodirect.de and 100 sheets of 9x12cm Ilford HP5+ from www.ag-photographic.co.uk
So now I will be all set for shooting high-speed B&W in the spring, when it finally warms up around here.
Shown below is my RADA #83 Normalfalz 9x12cm Planfilmkassette. I would like to find about twenty more of these exact holders, if I can ever find them.
Anybody here know where I can find some?

8x10" Unidrum for processing 9x12cm sheet film.
8x10" Unidrum for processing 9x12cm sheet film.
To process my 9x12cm sheet film, I am going to use a standard 8x10" Unicolor Print Drum, agitating the tank with a Unicolor Uniroller. I took apart a regular generic plastic closepin, ground it down a bit with my bench grinder, and held it together with two small rubber bands. This makes a nice sheet separator that keeps the 9x12cm sheets from "walking over" onto each other, overlapping or sticking together during processing.
I have four exposed test sheets to try out this weekend if I have time.

I think I have a few of these, but as you can imagine, I'm not giving them up. Most any 9x12 sheet film holder of that kind, that is, that fit into a small slot, should work. I'll try to get some shots for you to see some different ones that seem to be compatible.
EDIT: I think even the Russian holders might work, but I don't think I have ever seen one sold with film sheath. They can be easily made by machinists, so shouldn't cost too much.

More on 9x12 Planfilmkassettes.
More on 9x12 Planfilmkassettes.
Searching through a box of metal plateholders I got last year from a friend, I just found this one. It's a RADA Normalfalz 9x12. Even has a nifty spring-loaded tab, which flips up, indicating exposure, when you pull the slide. Also found three extra Kodak 9x12 Cut Film Sheaths, which fit all of these plate holders.
The original light trap on this RADA is in really bad shape, so I removed it, it popped right out. Another friend sent me a large piece of mohair material, I will try cutting a strip of that (with my rotary trimmer) and contact cementing it in.
I have Voigtlander, Russian, RADA, and some generic German 9x12 plateholders. They all fit my Makiflex 9x12 filmback. I would prefer to find some more of the RADA's, I believe they were part of Plaubel, at some point around the early 60's, when the Makiflex was a current offering.
