Nice camera Dean
I`ve always been a fan of Leica IIF`s - I always called it the "Ladies" Leica while it doesn`t have slow speeds, now that would be chauvinistic now would`nt be?
(well makes a great prop for the ladies to hold in one of my pinup shoots)
I like the round patch of vulcanite on the front
The IIF is a bit of a "sleeper" in the LTM world, great little cameras they are!
I just picked up a very clean matching numbers IIFBD from the midwest with a f3.5 Elmar and case, I`ll post photos soon
Happy Shooting with your LTM

Thanks Tom. I picked it up about a month ago as a non-op from KEH. The opening curtain was sitting at a diagonal, so I new I'd be putting curtains and ribbons in it. After I finished the curtain job and CLA, I thought it would be nice to have the finish spiffed up too, so got a kit from cameraleather.LeicaTom said:Nice camera Dean

It's a nice little rig, and very quiet.
"Ladies Leica"... That's funny. Wonder how I'd look in a size 8... or size 28 would be more like it.
Good Light!

oHHH that`s been recovered?
Nice job!
I`m going to use the Aki-Asahi covering on my "Black Paint" project IIIC
Closest thing I can find to the original covering - What I heard is Leitz ran out of their older style covering in the early 70`s

I contacted James Lager two weeks ago and we had a nice email conversation. He really is a nice guy and was very interested in the details of my camera. After checking his archive, he told me that the camera has matching numbers, body and lens were both delivered to the Wehrmacht in Berlin at the same day back in 1944 and are together since then!Harry Lime said:Tolle Kamera. Alles Gute,

PS:
Here is the contact information for James L. Lager of the Leica Historical Society of America. He is probabaly the foremost authority on these cameras. Perhaps you can send him the serial number and he will have more information.

I decided to sell the camera, she's up for auction on Nov. 10th in Frankfurt Germany. The catalogue will be online around Oct. 10th: http://www.photographica-auctionen.de/eng/index.asp

The best camera is one that still works!

1946 IIIc with VC 50mm Color-Skopar. The chrome finish is incredibly thin.
That lens looks great on that camera ... it really suits it!

Yes I can see it! That finder is LARGE! I thought mine was a little unwieldy.

What is your finder? It looks larger than a regular finder.

It it a TOC universal viewfinder (similar to Nikon Varifocal)
It covers 28,35,50,73,90,105,135. It was made in Japan and was sold as an alternative to the Nikon/Nippon external finder. I love it because it is so bright, even at 135. It also has a parralax correction dial. I got it for $135. The Nikon/TEWE finders alwasys go for too much.

The extra brightness is definitely an important factor.
I have one TEWE finder [35mm-135mm], but I did not know that it is costly to get. My FSU multiple finder [28mm-135mm] has been my finder with the most use lately. It looks cool too.
Nikon finders are too expensive for me.

It's my 'user', bought in 1982 and active since.
Just back from a CLA and re-finishing by Peter at CRR. Sweet as a nut.
All it needs now is a few more years of good usage.
Apologies for the pictures which do not do Peter's work justice. I wanted to take some photos quickly while the camera is still unmarked and my son has made off with tripod and lights.

Whatever
It looked so lovely sitting on the back seat of my car, I just had to take a shot of it!
Leica III (#166783) that I've had for 20 years, VIOOH finder, a Haber & Fink Turret, 90mm f/4 Elmar, 50mm f/2 Summar, and 35mm f/4.5 Steinheil.
Who needs only one male compensation device when you can have three?

Well, it's here... my IIIf bought from an RFF member several months ago, and hand-carried to me from Michigan to Jerusalem, by a dear friend. It is so beautiful, I've got to more pix of it to do it justice. Very clean and in pristine condition, the IIIf deserves to be used. That's a J8 on it in the Thumbnail, collimated to the Leica standard.
