This is just a dumb lens test:

It shows that my new Sigma 30 is in family with Panasonic 14 and Olympus 17/2.8 with respect to sharpness.

Probably a little better than my 17 (despite the internet hate, I like the lens) and noticably better then the Panasonic 14 (despite the internet love, I'm not that impressed with the lens).

The Oly 45 is noticably better and look at that lack of CA!!! What do you expect? The Oly 40-150 really holds its own against the 45 though IMO.

Anyway, I'm not a lens tester, but I've had some negative experiences with Sigma lenses back when I shot Canon mount and wanted to do a quick and dirty test to make sure my new Sigma wasn't decentered or anything.

Out shooting the new 30, I have to say it's a spectacular mate for my Oly 17... for the way I shoot, I'm pretty confident that I'll be using the 17 + 30 for more than 90% of my photos.

Final plug: Buy the Sigma 30 while it's still $150! Freaking great bargain!!!

Thanks for taking the time to do the test. The 45 comes out best, followed by the 40-150. How do you like the 60mm FOV with the Sigma lens?

I am loving the 30!!! If I had to choose, I could be happy with just the Oly 17 and the Sigma 30 as my only two lenses! This is working out great for me! Since I can't justify a P/L 25, this is it. The Pan 20 doesn't work well as my "normal lens." I've shot an old Russian 58mm Biotar copy and was able to use that on film just fine. In some ways it is better being a little longer. Paired with 17mm in my pocket I can cover most anything. If you are on the fence, you should snap up the 30 while they can still be had for $150. People talk about the delay, I'm not noticing it much while shooting, but it is there. The Oly 40-150 is a certainly a bargain! :)

I do have the 19mm, it is a lovely lens and I really like it. If you want to know the distortion, take a look at the different reviews on the net:
