Where'd my Bessa go?
It's a real irony that you can get 4 or 5 Zorkis for the price of that one meter!
Peter said:Good choice! The Ultron is my favourite lens and for travelling that is the only lens that I need. So are you developing your own B&W negatives? I have stopped doing that since last year and I am using XP2 or Kodak BW400CN as it is very cheap to ask the local photo shop to just develop them as I scan the negatives myself. I just re-acquire the 75mm/2.5, great lens!

Yeap still experimenting, basically using TMAX developer and HP5 and sometimes TMX 400. Tried TMAX with Delta 100 not too impressed with it. Mostly now i use Porta400 VC, like the saturated colors and just ask the shop to scan when they develope it.
Yeap th 75/2.5 is one of my favourite too.
THe number of scooters here is simply amazing!!!!

Peter said:Maybe you could give the XP2 a try since you are asking the shop to scan for you. Maybe you could also invest in a film scanner and the Minolta Scan Dual IV is ceap and good. Although you would have to brush and blow the negatives before scanning as it has no ICE feature. I have updated my gallery www.pbase.com/kepha/buloh with shots of field researchers and the shots were taken by XP2. Really good film and looks almost like a traditional B&W. Enjoy your trip in Taiwan and do show us the photos! 😀

Yeah, I used XP2 a lot last time too. Shot at 250, it looks very nice, smooth tones and good contrast. I still use it when I want to shoot portraits. Can hold overexposure quite well.
Another option is Kodak 400BW. Lower contrast but holds shadow details better at 400. Doesn't look as gritty as XP2 but is smooth.
