Something Like a Elector with 35mm lens?

I like the Yashica Electro quite a bit but the 50mm lens is not my preferred angle of view.

Rather shoot 35mm or wider. I have been looking for other fixed lens rangefinders with a wider lens but have been unsuccessful so far.

Anny suggestions?

I don't think it's too common, but you might find one at a decent price.

Yes, the top shutter speed is not very quick, the CC and CCN cameras are good for slower films, or for shooting indoors or with low light. The slowest speed is up to 16 seconds.

Right, and NDx filter could help, if sunlit outdoors are usual scene.

Yashica applied efforts to differentiate Electro RF and VF cameras - by means of focusing, max apertures, fastest and slowest speeds, flash capabilities, size, weight and so on.

Thanks for all the tips, I also noted the very slow shutter speed limitation. A specially since I am mainly interested in shooting wide open its a challenge.

Actually that price is not bad (yet), I've sold dozens of these on ebay, and bids go as high as $200 (or more). The reason is because of the wide aperture lens, a 35/1.8 LTM or M lens costs far more than $200.

As for shooting wide open, you can simply use slower film, I usually use Fuji Acros in a CC or CCN on bright days, and I use 400 speed film for cloudy days or indoor use.

But then it's not LTM or M lens, it's stuck on CC.
I'd pay this prices for CC with 28mm lens, never for 35mm.

I just picked up a Yashica Electro 35 CC. I shot a test roll of Kodak BW400CN rated at 200 ISO and used a Yellow #2 filter. The effective result was shooting at ISO 100 because of the filter factor. That helped compensate for the 1/250 top end shutter speed. I was very happy with the results. Just my 2 cents...

I can't complain about the results I get from the little Yashicas, I have a CCN which simply takes wonderful pics. I have several 35mm screw mount and M mount lenses, and they offer nothing superior enough in their performance to match their higher prices.

What I like most about the little Yashicas is their leaf shutters, which are far more quiet than the shutters in my Leicas. For indoor shooting I will take my CCN (the brassy, worn-out looking one in the "let's see your Yashica" thread), and leave my Leica at home. The meter is excellent, and it always gives me good exposures without any guesswork.

By "not LTM or M lens" I were pointing lens isn't interchangeable, not about quality. If one has mastered 50mm on RF body and would prefer to add inexpensive 35/1.8, that means new body - with different ergonomics, VF, RF, lens controls and so on. Not that it can not be learned (sucked in through use) - just have to be ready to pay by work for new lens. But then one saves bucks not going for Leica glass.
