What have you just BOUGHT?

A clever idea.

A tube system that screws together in different lengths, and different sized front plates, for large format cameras. Perfect for my three Plaubel makiflexes. Made in China and quite reasonably priced for what it is and does.

Here is a Makiflex, with 50mm tube, and #3 hole-sized front plate. Perfect for my 200mm H5.8 Rodenstock Imagon in barrel mount.

Focuses from infinity to about 1.5 feet with this combo. http://www.ebay.com/itm/201043934192?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Here are the extra tubes and rings I bought. Two 20mm tubes, two 30mm tubes, and four flat boards, to take various lenses. Two have #0 hole, and two have #2 hole. Nicely crafted and perfect for my Makiflexes. Lots and lots and lots of options with this system.

A Fujifilm X-E1 with XR 35mm F1.4. I'm now in the X club!

~Rif

Hope you love it and use it as much as I do, Rif. If I had to get rid of all but one rig on a moment's notice that would be the one.

As for me: an inexpensive-looks-pristine DP1 to go on cheap dates with my DP2m.

Dead Exakta VP, just because.

Dead Exakta VP, just because.

I have just bought a £10 Charity Shop Exakta VP in black with later case, quite worn, broken shutter and peeling blinds.

No reason really, except the price offering an opportunity to explore a camera from the very beginning of miniature SLR photography,in that it took smaller 127 film.
No flash sync, scale in feet and a USA stamp by the number.
Tripod socket heavily used, probably because this is the only way to focus/stop down and take a picture.

Frankly, any TLR must have been a much better camera at that time.

Surprisingly, the tiny Tessar seems clean with simple iris working perfectly.
I cleaned the focusing bevel and the screen and mirror although it's virtually impossible to focus accurately.

In all a fascinating insight into early SLR photography with my 1950s Praktina FX light years ahead, so I won't be having it restored!!

Finally decided it was time for 4X5 - Pacemaker Speed Graphic 4X5 + Kodak Ektar 178/2.5 + Nikon 180/2.8.(178/2.5 more specialized - 180/2.8 more practical)

Looking for a portrait lens in the 210 - 300mm range - thinking Rodenstock APO Ronar 240/9 for close ups.

A Leica M240 ... probably the most expensive photography purchase I'll ever make. So far no regrets. :)

As B&H surprised me, asking if remembered I had a store credit dating from 2010 ... I did not - so I got a tiny little Pentax Q7 just for fun.
