What have you just BOUGHT?

Brand-new 35mm f2.4 Leica Summarit-M ASPH. Will follow-up next month with a 75mm f2.4 Summarit-M and combine them with the 21mm f3.4 Super Elmar I bought new a few months ago as my lightweight three lens outfit for the M262.

Three rolls of Kodak color 135 film. Box of rubber O-ring to see if I can attach them around the eyepieces of my Zorki 1 to protect my eyeglasses.

Just received a Nikon FG w/Micro Nikkor 55 2.8 plus accessories, that I won on an auction site the other day.
Lens is like new, so I'm happy, and it came with a hood too. Camera isn't bad either but I don't shoot film so it really doesn't matter much to me.

Congrats on the acquisitions... The Nikon FG is a fine little camera and might be passed on if you don't use it. I bought one as a gift to my parents many years ago, but it did not survive being stored in a humid and salty environment, unfortunately.

I read some reviews on it Doug and find it's a tad more camera than I thought it was. Much more so with the manual mode than the EM I bought my mom back in the day.
I hope I can find a student that is looking for a good clean camera to learn on as this one is in nice shape. I put an old battery from my FE in it and it worked fine, without film. No reason to think it won't work with film.

edit 10/11/17 - FG has been moved on via Craig's List.

Yikes, been away for a while and seem to be accumulating more computer hardware and lighting accessories than any film gear! (though I do have my eye on a good Mamiya 6 body)

Tamron 300/F2.8 for Nikon AF-D

Tamron 300/F2.8 for Nikon AF-D

Dear Board,

I was told it would work on all Nikon AF cameras and while I only tested it on a D300, an 8008S, and an F4S I can report that it works on all of them.

Now if only it would quit raining so I can go for a walk in the woods?

I have the latest SP Adaptall version (manual focus) of the Tamron 300 f2.8 (360B) of your lens. Looks virtually identical. Large, heavy, fantastic internal focusing (focuses with a fingertip) and very sharp.

Dear dtcls,

I hope this works as well for me as it worked for the seller. It's kind of heavy but compared to 150-600 zooms it definitely doesn't feel overly heavy and it feels hand holdable to me.

I'm curious since you say you have the Adaptall version if your lens has the 43mm drop in filter ring? If so, can you recommend a source for skinny 43mm drop in filters? I'd like to get an ND and a polarizer.
