Another Voigtländer Viewfinder 15mm v1. I had one of these once upon a time, sold it some time ago for some reason, but I'll need it for the Pixii to use with my 10mm lens. 🙂

Anyway, I am struck by the tonal brilliance of these images you've posted! You are on to something 🙂

Looks quite good.
Pan,
I rarely open this thread.....sorry to sound snooty, I am guilty of buying too much stuff, and this thread could fuel the fire.

Totally in agreement! The second picture, the church interior, is masterful!
Viltrox 85mm F1.8 II for Fuji X
Interesting choice, John, what was your motivation or reasoning behind this purchase?
I'm also curious to hear from you about the end results... in other words, what do you think of the lens after using it?
All the best,
Mike
Yes, it is a weird choice... I've never used a 135mm lens in my life. However, I plan to use it on the street...to complicate things. Shooting through poles and other things that get in the way on purpose. I won't be using it for portraits much or to simplify things. So basically, some experimenting is the reason... after seeing it could work well after doing the same complications with 65, 75, and 85mm lenses. Another big motivator was price... I got it for $325 with import fees and shipping included. That's generally impossible in Chile.
I think it will be delivered to Chile at the end of April, but I will try to remember to let you know once I've used it for awhile.
I found a mint-condition, Leitz Hektor 135mm f/4.5 some years back that I bought for similar reasons. It's a lens that has a terrible reputation amongst the Leica owner communities ... it cost me less than $185 ... but to my surprise it performed very well with the M9 and M-D type 262, and works very well with the Leica CL (digital) as well. That said, I only use it occasionally; it's a bit long for my usual working need.
I'll be interested to see how the Viltrox works for you. 🙂

A few years ago I sifted through a display case of four of those lenses and selected the very best - clean glass and smooth operation. I’ve used it on my M3 and have been happy with the results. Three years? That’s not encouraging. My Rolleiflex F3.5 Planar was serviced by Fleenor for a small fortune back in 2019, five months ago I noticed the self timer had stopped working again, the depth of field indicators had slowed down to a snails pace…
