They are not that difficult to get into* - though I'd buy a set of JIS screwdrivers if you haven't already done so. See if someone has one on Youtube as it's long enough since I did mine that I doubt I can provide much help.

I have enough of the right tools to do the job and I've found a few videos on youtube to give me the knowledge and confidence to do it...
I've recently rescued a Nikkor 135mm 2.8 with sticky blades and a 50mm 1.4 Ais with a slightly stiff focus ring...
Hoping to save another lens from sitting on a shelf...
 
My Instax Mini Evo arrived today (they're out of stock again, already, so I'm glad I didn't hesitate). Several packs of color and monochrome, both, so I can see if there really is a difference. I totally blame lynnb's Instax thread for this purchase! I've made it clear that all spousal ire should be directed there.
Actually, I jest. I'm so fortunate, in that my spouse never evinces anything more than a cocked eyebrow over even my most absurd purchases. When I recently sold a Leica body, purchased 8 years ago for $900.00, for over $5,000.00, his response was that I was a more savvy investor than he! Now, if I can just get him to pose without a glum pout...

I've resisted buying more Instax gear ... Have three Instax that work well but I don't use them enough. One of these days I'll build the Instax SQ camera I've had in mind for five or ten years... LOL!

I received a Cineamex B30 NDx4 and Cineamex B30 Red for my Yashica 635 earlier today. I ordered them from a seller in Italy on 29/8/22, they were posted on 30/8/22 and today is 2/9/22. Getting from Italy to the UK in that time seems "unreasonably" quick to me! lol. I've never heard of this brand nor the company (Animex) that make them before.

The Red is a little puzzling:

On the front of the box it has "Red II FILTER Double Threaded" but on the top and bottom "Red II filter B-30".

On the front of the black filter ring it has "Cineamex Red 3/6x B-30 Japan". I've never seen this "number/number" type of marking before. On the leaflet it has "R6x Red Filter Factor 6-8".

I'm guessing they mean the exposure adjustment is 2 1/2 to 3 stops, but how am I supposed to know when it should be 2 1/2 and when it should be 3? Also, what is the "3" in "3/6x" for, if not "3 stops", in which case why not just call it an "R8x"?
 
Filters, filters, filters. I bought a Series V UV 17 which showed up as casting a light sepia tone onto the images. Nice if you want that. I did not. A second Series V UV filter is a truly clear one. I needed it not so much for the UV filtration as the front lens protection. Glad to have it. Cheap thrills. ;o)

Micro-NIKKOR 55mm 2.8 lens arrived, the Aperture blades were oily and stuck open, inner and outer helical threads had old hard grease. Cleaned all I could and reassembled.
Working and looking good now. At $34 USD it was a really good gamble in the end. Didn't come with rear cap or hood, wrong hood but close enough.
 
I received a Photax B30 "Crystal" filter which was going to be used (possibly as much as once in a decade, lol), on my recently acquired Yashica 635, but earlier today I fired the shutter on B with the back open to see if there was any haze (I'd thought I'd seen hints of haze in the shutter/aperture window) but I found quite a lot of fungus. I thought I'd checked it for that when I received the camera, but I hadn't.:bang:

Anyway, for those curious enough: the "Crystal" filter just adds 6 point stars to specular reflections and lights, so not the most important filter.
 
A nice little 2X3 Graflex Crown Graphic. Came with a cut film holder and a roll back...plus a flash head minus the "lightsaber" (sigh) battery pack. It came with a Graflex lens that needs a tad bit of internal cleaning, so I slapped a 101mm Kodak Ektar (circa 1945) on it. It's a nice little shooter!

A Nikonos II with the W-Nikkor 35mm f2.5 lens and UW-Nikkor 28mm f3.5 is on its way. I intend to use it on land, and on wet outdoor excursions with the 35mm. The 28mm can only be used underwater.

I never really considered a Nikonos before and then saw some great shots with the 35mm lens on land. This lens is apparently the same as the 35mm 2.5 rangefinder lens, but sells very cheaply.

I quite like the chunky, robust look of the mechanical Nikonos and Calypso cameras. Will be a conversation starter for sure.
 

Bought an Olympus OM-2n, with what I thought was a standard 50/1.8 Zuiko, but instead this was on the body together with a Teleplus 2X. It was a bit of a chock!

Wow! What a find. Was the seller just unaware?
I’ve been gathering some Olympus gear for the last year or two and really like it. For me, using an OM1n and OM2n with 21mm, 24mm and macro lenses nicely compliments using Leica Ms and Barnack with 28 to 90mm focal lengths.

Enjoy it!

I love my OM-2n! Such a small and nice SLR. I love the mirror slap 🙂
Re: the seller, he had inherited it from his father that passed away 10 years ago and just wanted to get rid of the stuff.

This is the important bit ""R6x Red Filter Factor 6-8"." and it means 6 to 8 stops adjustment to the exposure. You'll have to experiment to see how it works with your standards B&W film, assuming you have one or even a choice these days.

As for "R3" it probably identifies the filter in their (Animex's) range; so we can guess there's a R1 and R2 and even R4...

The W-Nikkor 35/2.5 on my Nikonos V has produced spectacular results. Definitely a very sharp lens.
