Sony RX100 is better than GRD imo, grd iv is too expensive for that small sensor - save and get the GR ...

I would say something from the Fuji X Series, I brought my X100 to Europe with me over march break and it worked very well in the traveling situation. It is much more enjoyable to use in silent mode, with the optical viewfinder and the screen display turned off when in shooting mode. I also recommend a leather wrist strap, a lens pen, 3rd party lens hood, an extra battery/charger and a at least two extra sd cards.

Ricoh's seem to come up a lot in these discussions. Are there particular models that are recommended? And what kind of $ am I looking at for a good used one? KEH has a GR IV now for $430. I'd love to spend a bit less if I could.
I'm a bit out of my element recommending specific models, as I've only pre-ordered the new GR and never actually used any of the I-IVs, but that won't keep me from giving you a reply.
GR IVs have been selling on eBay for $300 - $350, and B&H now has them new for $396.
