What a compact lovely lens. Shall my 35mm/f2.5 be replaced?

Kim Coxon said:My guess would be around the $600 mark.
If you have a 35mm 1.4 Summilux, would you really need a 35mm 1.4 Nocton?
philhirn said:just a question - would the "high refractive index" glass and the relation to the "classic" 40/1.4 asph imply that this lens is also using aspheric elements?
kevin m said:The old Summilux... has, um, "interesting" performance wide open.
Kim Coxon said:Is that similar to "glow" 😀

"Character", Kevin, "Character" !

Many people who wanted a compact 35/40 have been tolerating slightly inaccurate framelines and going with the 40. Now they don't have too. I think the popularity of the 40 f1.4 for people with cameras that didn't even have 40mm framelines was the motivator for this lens.

Perhaps this lens in the pipeline explains the lack of 40mm framelines on the R4A?
