Camera and Coffee

Hi Honu-Hugger,
Cameras in volume is good, but I traded my Kiev and Contax ll to a fellow member a while back, so you've all got the jump on me there. Now I'm still short a Canonet G-lll 17, another Kiev, a Contax lla, a Nikon SP, a Canon P or L series, a Bessa of any sort (newer RF of course, not my 1939 Bessa RF folder), a Leica of any sort or dagnabbit thanks to Bill (lol) a Bessaflex. Out of all my goodies, (only 148 are RF, sorry) you'd think I'd have one of any of these but oh, no. And to make matters worse, I've sworn off the E site for at least two weeks now (a record for me) so I'll have to bide my time and pounce when I see one I REALLY REALLY need. It also helps to have a wife who's pretty darn understanding and turns a blind eye.

This mornings coffee run....brought the Kiev 4a to keep me company 🙂
(and always carry the P-100 digital with me which is what took the photo).

i am feeling somewhat restless these days and....

I've been feeling the same way for the last year of so! When do we leave!!! 😀

How do you spell RUT???

would it not be wonderful?
to get in the car and drive off in search of adventure and scenes to fill our viewfinders?
to not worry about bills and social commitments or if we get that report in on time?
to have the time to just concentrate on making, taking and creating photos?

i'm thinking - maybe a caravan of cars - as there may be more than you and i!!

Stephen, did you paint it black yourself, or was it bought already painted?
I've been considering a repaint job myself ever since I saw Fzorki's Paint it Black pages... 😀

Joe, better yet, I've got a 38' motorhome. Sure could pack lots of cameras, film, food, and favorite breverages in it (including coffee)!!! 😀

I've considered taking on assignments or projects for work that would get me traveling for a month or two at a time, but the responsibilities to the family kill that quickly. My wife would be behind me for one or two trips, but I would feel so guilty leaving it all behind for that long. I'll have to wait until the kids are older then decide.

Denis, it was repainted, new leatherette, etc, when I bought it. Whomever refurbished it did a good job. It looks factory done, but I have no idea how long it will last under use.

Lovely camera, Steve. And a great shot! If the camera has been painted as another member asked it is a beautiful job.

As for running away from home: can we motorcade? I'd like to go by motorcycle, but still be with the group. If that's not an option I'll still go anyway.

Absolutely!! Everyone is invited by motorcycle, auto, bus, truck, even bicycles if they can keep up 🙂

We will fill the RV refig with food, film, cameras, PC with scanners, photo printer, and photoshop. Turn on the satellite dish for RRF internet access and daily postings of our adventures, as well as HBO when we run out of high speed film for night photography. It will be our support vehicle for the caravan!

The only issue will be which direction, and starting and ending points. I'd like to also traverse an ocean, while riding in the RV while on deck on some ocean freighter.

Should be an interestring trip. Say California to Boston/New York, traverse the Atlantic, dock in Portugal then RV up and around Eurpore and end in Norway!!!

Sponsors ????? 😛

And how about FujiFilm? They should be glad to sporsor a group that buys so much of it's product ~ ; - )

Pherdinand,
Nice shot of the Yashica, but would you like some coffee with that cup of sugar? LOL.🙂

Thanks, D2...certainly beautiful, just a bit too shy 😀

Believe it or not, there was a case here in the Netherlands of a guy breaking into a chinese restaurant, preparing himself a dish eating and leaving. They got him, of course. He had to pay for the window he broke and the food he made 🙂
