All I've got now is a 50 and a 90, been keeping an eye out for a 28 more than a 35 for the moment.

well, i did get another 21 and have paired it up with the 40...have paired the 28 with the 50 with my second body, can carry it all in the big bag or split it in the small bag.
that leaves the 15 for when i'm feeling wide and eventually i want another cv 75/2.5...too cheap, small and sharp not to have it around.

Ezzie, how is it with the 90?
Nobody else uses a 90mm on the rd1?
Is it worthlessly small in the finder?
How abt focusing a 90 at f2 and close focus, would it be a problem?
I mostly use the CV 15 and 35 mm like, always. While the former is fast and discreet for "dangerous" contexts the last is just perfect when I have the time to stop, think, focus and shot.
On the other hand, I have my 75 which I use less than I'd like. However, it is a unique lens for portraits in spite of the difficulty to focus sometimes wide-open (the image in my finder patch is just above the original image so I can't never nail it). I can imagine the 90 might be similar to the 75.

i love the 15 on the rd1...but it takes more work to get a good shot. i have to be constantly aware of where i am...which is usually too far from my subject...i prefer the 21 for that reason.

Not yet, but supposed to arrive by next week. Will report result once they are with me.
Used to have CV28 and 50 in Black Paint finish, but sold them some time ago.

That's super easy to adjust on the original R-D1. I see you have the R-D1s - is that the one where they made it more difficult or was it the R-D1x (I don't know if this change was more than a rumour anyway)?(the image in my finder patch is just above the original image so I can't never nail it).

Unfortunately, I wasn't successful with that. I already tried adjusting those three screws but the patch image keeps without matching the original subject. It only remain me to remove the top plate and try with the fourth screw, but I just don't feel myself brave enough for that. So, I just try to get used to it.

Do you mean the patch doesn't move vertically at all (infinity focus), when you adjust the third screw, or you just can't get it to match? If you can get it to move, you should be able to make it match. The adjustment you need to do is however very small so you can easily overdo it. If the patch does not move vertically, then you may have a problem.Unfortunately, I wasn't successful with that. Thanks.
I hate to use VF when on travel or I need to switch lens on one camera body. I will have a trip late this month, but the CV28 and 50 I bought haven't arrive yet, :bang: Seems lost some where between CA and Singapore. I may have to carry the 21 when I need a wide.
On the other hand, I agree with you that 21 and 40 is a very handy combo. 28mm will be too close to 40, which is my main lens on R-D1.

I love the Canon 50/1.5 with R-D1, but the pre-asph summilux is a better lens on all aspects (I keep them both).
I played with 21SA on R-D1 but decided to let it be with film only. The result from film is much better than it from digital, I must say.
When I need wide on R-D1, I use CV21.

The 21SA has become my favourite on the R-D1...sometimes I find it magical...others might disagree. I remember the first shot I took with it was followed by "wow....."
the 28 is my least fave lens on the rd1.
Same for me, sold my Canon 28/2.8...thought it would be great....just didn't work out for me.
