What have you just BOUGHT?

After a couple of weeks of jonesing about it, and looking at all the available examples at dealers and on Ebay, I've caved: another Hasselblad SWC/M is now on the way to me. As well as a couple of filters, etc.

This will be my third SWC. You know what they say, "Third time's the charm!"

In truth, I loved the first two, and the first loaner before that. I didn't use them enough and other, more pressing things got in the way. I don't think, with my current equipment, that there are any "more pressing things" on the horizon now. 🙂 And, hey, this one is a black finish body and lens! 😀

May I ask, how much did you pay forr the D700? I had the opportunity to buy one in 2020 for 200 Euros but did not go for it. I still regret my decision and prices seem to go up.
I paid 250 Euro (shutter count 48000, coming with two battery grips, battery, charger and two CF cards). The prices are higher now than 2020 here in Germany, but only slightly. There are always some in the 250 Euro price range on the bay, but this was the lowest shutter count and the best appearance (hopefully; arriving Thursday, picture most likely in camera and coffee)

I fought with myself not to buy a second one.

I see that D700 is gaining a bit of a cult status. Is there a good reason for this? I know that for example Fuji xtrans I and II cameras are now much more expensive than some years ago (my X-E1 now asks the same price I paid for the new when it was sold at the discount). It is explained by “film-like” colors etc. Something similar about D700?

I´m not into the film-like-digital thing. I just wanted a full frame Nikon DSLR and I like the Nikon "Dinosaur" appeal (after a D70s, a D100 and a D300) and I got mirrorless covered by the A7.

You're reminding me that I really need to pull out my plain prism F and run a roll of film through it. 🙂

I dunno if there is a "cult" about the D700. I bought mine in 2008 or 2009, because it have a 24x36 chip and I can use all my Ai / Ai-S lenses with it.
I have no other / autofucus lenses because my F2 cant handle that modern stuff. Well - the camera just works. In principle the D700 is a kind a "digital back" instead of the F2 for the Ai lenses.
Dunno how good or bad the colors are in comparison to any other cam - honestly - I dont care. The original battery still have a 100% loading capacity - after about 15 years.
The "device D700" just works, thats all I demand from a machine.
Prints in 20 x 30 cm look good. When do I need larger ones?
Thought about selling ist, but hell, for that prices called, I'll keep it.
