Have You seen the new 35/1.4 Nokton?

You said it, Kevin! I wouldn´t mind it being LTM, though - my Canon P has nothing against CV lenses. Neither will the 7Sz after a week or two of breaking in to new house rules...

You always have the option of the great 35/1.5 !

Does anyone believe that VC will offer two versions of the lens outside of Japan? That's asking retailers to essentially double their orders.

I'd guess that it will be just the MC (multicoat) version. Just a guess.

I dare say that the we wont be seeing the 1.7 Ultron reappear in M mount now.

Agree with you, Joel.

Also interesting that both 21 and 35/2.5 continue to exist in both LTM and
M, and that there is no 28 yet. A small, M-mount 28/2 or 28/2.8 would
be nice ....

It is M mount since it claims focusing from 0.7m.
By itself that doesn't mean anything, the 21/4 in LTM focuses down to 0.5 and couples to the rangefinder at 0.7 (on cameras that support it). When I went from the Bessa to the M5 here I got a real bonus out of the change focusing-wise.

Technically it would be no problem either rangefinder-wise to build a camera whose rangefinder coupling goes down to 0.5 or 0.3m, only parallax would be quite awkward.

Poor joe thought he had the full set

:D sorry joe

not so much...i went with the smaller versions of the cv lenses to keep the fov as clean as possible.
now i have a choice for fast and small, which is exciting.

i have not seen a buzz like this, for a new lens, in a long time.
i'm even excited and i don't usually have a need for a fast lens - but this one sounds perfect for the r4a and some indoor shooting.

It is absolutely cool ! There is really only one competitor for this lens,
and that is very expensive.

Roland.

Normally Cosina informs the distributors of new product details several weeks in advance. I have no info on the 35/1.4 from the factory yet, not until they reopen after the weekend.

About six months ago Mr. K asked Tom A and myself if a 35/1.4 or 35/2 would be more desirable. We both favored the 35/1.4. I would have preferred screw mount, to allow for easy M8 coding.

no prices yet, but taking deposits. probable delivery mid to late February.

In this particular market this doesn't seem to matter at all.

I know what you are saying. But then there are people like you or me.
I will swap my 35/2 v3 in a heart beat.

Roland.

Wonder what size the filter ring is? Not 39, I'd expect. Having looked around for a Summilux 35 lately (too much money or too beat up) I think Voigtlander will sell a fair number of these.
Pardon my ignorance -- was there previously a 35/1.4 in LTM, or will the necessary glass fit in that mount?

I believe 43 is mentioned, Joe, like for the 40.

There is the 35/1.5 Canon in LTM, and the original Summilux might have been made in LTM as well.

I always though the 40 Nokton had too big of a rear element for LTM.

Joe, Arent you glad you went with the Rokkor 40 rather than the Nokton 40 now? ;) It would seem rather impractical to have both 35mm and 40mm Classic Noktons.

The answer is: yes. Sell the Lux, buy the Nok, and with the difference you can make a photo shooting holiday week somewhere on this planet!

D.

Exactly my thoughts, I think they could have a winner on their hands with this one considering all talk here.
